Poster Printing, are selected in the printer software.

display properly when certain shadings are selected.

>>> To correct this issue:
1. Right-click on the computer desktop.
2. Select Properties, then click the Settings tab.
3. In the Colors drop-down list, select an option greater than 256 colors
   (for example, 16 bit, 24 bit, or 32 bit color options).

2. CONFLICTS WITH SPECIFIC SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS
=================================================

When this printer software was released, the following software program
limitations existed:

Photo Gold application once printing begins.

2.2. JAWS for Windows
-------------------------------------
HP Deskjet 6120 series printers:

in this printer. To correct the problem, disable the virtual cursor in the JAWS
application by pressing Insert + Z.

Freedom Scientific Technical Support:
www.freedomscientific.com

2.3. Kodak Imaging

Windows 98 SE/Windows ME:
Large TIF and JPG graphics will not print from the Kodak Imaging application.
To print large TIF and JPG graphics, open the files in another application.

Microsoft Technical Support:

2.4. Microsoft Access
---------------------------------
If a background or color is used in a document and you are printing in FastDraft
mode, the background or color will not print. To print backgrounds and colors,
select a higher print quality, such as Normal.

Microsoft Access Technical Support:
http://support.microsoft.com/directory

2.5. Microsoft Excel
------------------------------
Print settings (such as print quality) can only be applied to individual worksheets.
If "Entire workbook" is selected for printing, the print settings applied to each
worksheet are used.

>>> To ensure that print settings are applied consistently throughout a workbook,
open each worksheet and do the following:
1. Select File > Page Setup > Options to open the Printer Properties dialog box.
2. Select the desired print settings, then click OK.

2.6. Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0
------------------------------------------------------
If your printer supports borderless printing and you select a borderless paper
size in the printer software, the printed document will still contain margins.
For true borderless printing with Internet Explorer, upgrade to the current version
of the application.

2.7. Microsoft Office
--------------------------------

Office XP:

Autoshapes that are created with the Transparency option, in combination with the
Fill Effects feature, print as opaque. Autoshapes that are created with the Transparency
option without the Fill Effects feature print correctly.

Office 2000 and Office XP running on Windows XP computers:

Some fill patterns may not print correctly. To fix this problem, download and install
Windows XP Service Pack 1 or later.

2.8. Microsoft Publisher
------------------------------------
2.8.1.  Banner paper:

inches.

>>> To do this:
1. Select File > Print > Tile Printing Options.
2. Change the Overlap Tiles By setting to 0.0 in.

2.8.2.  Envelopes:
When printing on envelopes, the return address may be clipped. To prevent
this problem from occurring, shift the return address to the right approximately

2.8.3.  Polygon shapes:
Some polygon shapes print very slowly in Normal or Best mode.

>>> To increase printer speed:
1. Select File > Print.
2. Click Properties or Preferences to open the Printer Properties dialog box.
3. Do one of the following:
   * Click the Paper/Quality tab, then set Print Quality to FastDraft, or
   * Click the Basics tab, click the Advanced Features button, then select Low Memory Mode.

2. Click Properties or Preferences to open the Printer Properties dialog box.
3. Click the Paper/Quality tab, then set Print Quality to FastDraft.

2.9. Microsoft Word
-------------------------------

Word 2000:

2.9.1.  A4 documents:
A4 size documents are scaled to letter size if Letter is selected as the
paper size in the printer software. To prevent this problem, select A4 as the paper
size.

2.9.2. JPG images (Windows 98 SE):
When JPG images are resized within the application, they may become fragmented and
stretched. To avoid this problem, resize the image before inserting it into the document.

2.9.3. DL envelope size (HP Deskjet 3650 series printers):
When the DL Envelope size is selected in the printer software, in combination with
Landscape orientation and the Rotate By 180 Degrees setting, the application changes
the envelope's size to 8.5 x 11 inches. To correct the problem, set the orientation to Portrait.

Word 2000 and Word XP:

An additional page is printed if documents have an odd number of pages and Pages Per Sheet
is set for an even number in the printer software.

Microsoft Word Technical Support:
http://support.microsoft.com/directory

2.10. Microsoft Works
--------------------------------
Documents may print incorrectly if more than one copy of a document is being
printed and the Collate and automatic Print on Both Sides options are selected
in the printer software. (The automatic Print on Both Sides option may not be
available with your printer.)

* If two copies of a document are being printed, the same page will appear on
  the front and back of a single sheet of paper (for example, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, etc.).

* If multiple copies of a document are being printed and the document contains an
  odd number of pages, the copies will not print correctly. The final page of the
  first copy will print on the front of a paper sheet and the first page of the next
  copy will print on the back.

2.11. PrintMaster Platinum

2.12. WordPerfect 9.0 and 10.0

Print on Both Sides setting (if available on your printer). When printing
on both sides of a page, always use the printer setting.

=======================================
3. PROBLEMS WITH NETWORKED PRINTERS
=======================================

3.1. Performance Issues with Point and Print Connectivity
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If the print server does not have sufficient resources, and multiple clients
are printing, you may not achieve maximum printer performance.

To increase printer speed, add more memory and/or disk space to the print server.

3.2. Power Failure while Printing with a Jetdirect Print Server
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If a power failure occurs while you are printing with an HP Jetdirect Print
Server, the next job in the print queue may stay in the Ready state indefinitely.

>>> To correct this situation:
1. Restore power to the printer.
2. Cancel the current print job.
3. Turn the Jetdirect Print Server's power off and then on again.

=========================================
4. PROBLEMS PRINTING THROUGH A ZIP DRIVE
=========================================

If the printer is connected to your computer through a ZIP drive, printer
errors may occur if you try to access the ZIP drive during a print job. To avoid
these errors, do not try to access your ZIP drive while printing.

=======================================================
5. PROBLEMS WITH 16-BIT APPLICATIONS UNDER WINDOWS NT
=======================================================

If you are running 16-bit applications (designed for Windows 3.x) under
Windows NT, you may encounter printing problems. To avoid problems, upgrade
your software to 32-bit applications that are designed for use with Windows NT.
