Release Note for WG311T Software Release 3.0.0

Driver Version: 3.0.1.6
-----------------------------------

What's new in this release (from v1.0.0):

1. Added WPA-PSK support for Netgear's configuration Utility.
2. Fixed WPA Microsoft HotFix #815485 issue in Windows XP.
3. Solved "Connection Speed" at 108Mbps when connecting at "Auto 108" on the 108Mbps routers - WGT624, WGT634U.
4. Added non-admin user account support. (*)
XP Comupter administrator account,
XP Limited account,
2000 Administrator
2000 Backup Operators
2000 Guests
2000 Power Users
2000 Replicator
2000 Users (Limited Users)

(*) Note: The following features are not available for the "non-admin" accounts and are grayed out in the utility:

    * Profile (Save or delete) and
    * Fragmentatioin Threshold and RTS/CTS Threshold in the Advanced Settings.

Known Issues:
- If using WPA-PSK or WEP in Win98 or Win Me, the computer may need a complete shutdown and reboot in order to have a stable wireless connection. (*)

- Selecting "108Mb 802.11g" alone does not connect to "Auto 108" on WGT624 or WGT634U.
(Workaround: "Check" another Wireless Mode (54Mb or 11Mb) besides "108Mb 802.11g" on WG311T When trying to connect to "Auto 108" on WGT624/WGT634U.)

Installation Instructions:

1. Unzip and run the WG311Tv300.exe,
2. Choose Remove (only selection active) and Finish the removal process.
3. Re-Run WG311Tv300.exe
4. Follow the steps to complete the installation.

Windows 98se and Me users only:

(*) Windows 98SE/Me Question: In Windows 98se and Me. why cannot my WG311T get an IP address when I switch to a different AP from the AP browser list?

Answer: This is Windows 98se and Windows Me behavior (limitations) and not a WG311T bug. You should try the following two work-arounds:

(1)	Run command-line windows (Start > Run > type in “Command” and enter)
(2)	Execute “winipcfg” at the command prompt
(3)	Click on “Renew All” button and wait for renewed IP to appear.
(4)	If (3) fails (no IP after 1 minute). Try “Release All” first then “Renew All” again. Wait for renewed IP to appear.

Details: Windows 98SE/Me OS limitations: TCP/IP task will not be triggered to renew the IP address if the device is not going through a device disconnect/connect process (The driver media needs to go through disconnect/connect event).
