supplements the Creative PC-CAM Center documentation.
Please read all the sections before you proceed with the installation.

1.   IMPROVING USB DEVICE STABILITY
     ------------------------------

     In some cases, slowing down the computer hardware's graphics acceleration 
     may improve the stability of USB devices.

     To adjust the computer hardware's graphics acceleration:
     1) Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.
     2) In the Control Panel window, double-click the Display icon.
     3) In the Display Properties dialog box, click the Settings tab.
     4) In the Settings tabbed page, click the Advanced Properties button.
     5) In the Advanced Display Properties dialog box, click the Performance tab.
     6) Drag the Hardware Acceleration slider to the left to slow down the rate.


2.   TROUBLESHOOTING
     ---------------

     Problem: 
     There is no video displayed when the application is in the Live
     Cam mode.

     Solution:
     *  Use the Device Manager to verify that the USB Host
        Controller has no resource conflicts.
     *  Slow down the graphics hardware acceleration.

3.   NOTES ON CREATIVE PC-CAM CENTER
     -----------------------------------

     - Certain Video and Audio compression/decompression drivers may 
       not work correctly with Creative PC-CAM Center.
       Some recommended codecs for video are:
       - Intel(r) Indeo(r) 3.2
       - Intel(r) Indeo(r) 5.04 Compression Filter
       - Cinepak Codec by Radius

       A recommended audio codec is PCM.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
