LSI Logic Corporation  - Symbios PCI SCSI MPI Miniport Driver  (Windows 2000)

To install the Symbios PCI SCSI MPI miniport driver do the following:

 1) Ensure the following files are on a flex disk located at:
        \txtsetup.oem
        \symmpi.sys
        \symmpi.tag
        \oemsetup.inf
 2) Install the Symbios FC909 Fibre Channel Adapter into the system.
 3) Boot Windows 2000.
 4) Windows 2000 will detect the adapter and display the Found New Hardware
    Wizard dialog box.  Click Next.
 5) Insure that the "Search for a suitable driver..." line is selected, then
    click Next.
 6) Insert the Windows 2000 Symbios PCI SCSI MPI Driver Installation Disk 
    (from step 1) into Drive A:.
 7) Insure that the optional search location of Floppy Disk Drives is checked,
    then click Next.
 8) The location of the driver will be displayed.  Click Next.
 9) A "Digital Signature Not Found" dialog box will be displayed, indicating
    that this driver has not completed Microsoft certification testing.  Click
    Yes to continue installation of the driver.
10) After copying driver files and installing the driver, dialog box displays
    indicating the driver installation has completed.  Click Finish.


To update an existing Symbios PCI SCSI MPI miniport driver do the following:

 1) Ensure the following files are on a flex disk located at:
        \txtsetup.oem
        \symmpi.sys
        \symmpi.tag
        \oemsetup.inf
 2) Boot Windows 2000.
 3) Right-click the My Computer Icon, then click Properties.
 4) Select the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager button.
 5) Click the plus sign (+) to the left of "SCSI and RAID controllers"
 6) Right-click on the Symbios FC909 Fibre Channel Adapter.
 7) Click on Properties.
 8) Click on the Driver tab.
 9) Click on Update Driver button.
10) The Update Device Driver Wizard dialog box displays.  Click Next.
11) Insure that the "Search for a suitable driver..." line is selected, then
    click Next.
12) Insert the Windows 2000 Symbios PCI SCSI MPI Driver Installation Disk 
    (from step 1) into Drive A:.
13) Insure that the optional search location of Floppy Disk Drives is checked,
    then click Next.
14) The location of the driver will be displayed.  Click Next.
