To create an update Firmware CD, a CD burner and a blank CD-R disc are required. Identification Gateway Connected DVD player, model number ADC-220. This model number is listed under the Gateway logo on the front, left side of the player. Installation 1. If not already done, locate and double-click the 7514147.exe file that you originally downloaded from the Internet. The needed files are extracted to the C:\Cabs\7514147 folder. 2. Burn the files within the C:\Cabs\7514147 folder onto a blank, formatted CD-R; using whatever method you have available to do so. The UPDATE.VER and Firmware folder need to be located on the root of the CD-R. 3. After creating the CD, place it in the ADC-220 DVD player's tray, but do not close the tray. 4. Using the power button on the front of the DVD player, turn off the DVD player, and then turn it on again. 5. The tray closes, and the disc starts automatically. 6. On the menu, use the DOWN ARROW button to select the 1.22a09-08-08-Gateway name. Press the ENTER button 7. The update runs. Do not turn off the unit or press any buttons while the update proceeds. 8. When the update is complete, the disc tray ejects automatically. 9. Remove the disc. Using the power button on the DVD player, turn off the unit and then turn it on again. 10. The tray closes and the update is complete. Removal Because this is a firmware update rather than a driver, there is no removal. Troubleshooting If the update did not complete correctly, ensure that you burned the file UPDATE.VER and the Firmware folder to the root directory. The Firmware folder contains two files. Ensure that there are no other files on the disc, or the update does not work correctly. Reason for Update ADC-220 firmware version 1.22a adds support for the Gateway Wireless card and new features. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
