Overview

This is the Gateway OEM Microsoft Windows XP Media Center driver for the Emuzed Maui III-G TV tuner card.


Identification

1.  From the Start menu, click Control Panel.

2.  In Control Panel, click the Performance and Maintenance icon. 

3.  In the Performance and Maintenance window, click the System icon. 

4.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

5.  In Device Manager, double-click Sound, video and game controllers.  

6.  If Emuzed Maui III-G Device is listed under Sound, video and game controllers, this is the correct driver.

Note:  If Emuzed Maui III-G TV Tuner Card is listed under Other Devices as a Multimedia Controller, the driver is not installed.  Review your computer invoice to verify the part number if needed.


Installation


Download the 9528114.exe file to the desktop, and then perform the following steps. 

Note:  If the Add New Hardware Wizard displays when the computer restarts, click Next, and then click Finish to complete the wizard.

1.  From the Start menu, click Run.

2.  In the Run dialog box, type the path and location of the file 9528114.exe.  Example: C:\Cabs\9528114.exe.  Click OK.  The files extract to the C:\Cabs\9528114 directory.

3.  From the Start menu, click Run.

4.  In the Run dialog box, type the path and location of the installation file.  Example: C:\Cabs\9528114\DrvSetup.exe.  Click OK.

5.  In the Driver Setup Utility dialog box, click OK.

6.  Files copy.

7.   When complete, shut down Windows and restart the computer.  

7.  Verification of the driver version installed can be accomplished by reviewing the Emuzed Maui III-G Device properties in the Device Manager.   


Removal

1.  Open Control Panel. 

 From the Microsoft Windows XP default Start menu, click Control Panel. 
 From the classic Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, open System. 

 If you are in Category View, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. 
 If you are in Classic View, double-click the System icon. 

3.  In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. 

4.  In Device Manager, click Sound, video and game controllers, and then click Emuzed Maui III-G Device.

5.  From the Action menu, click Uninstall.

6.  In the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK.

7.  Removal is complete.  No further removal steps are necessary. 

Note:  If you are not prompted to restart the computer, shut down Windows and manually restart the computer.


Troubleshooting

If you have difficulty during or after the driver installation, perform the following troubleshooting steps. 

1.  Ensure that all cables are securely connected.  

2.  Ensure that the Emuzed Maui III-G TV Tuner Card is fully seated in the PCI expansion slot.

3.  Remove the driver, following the removal procedure in this document, and then reinstall the driver, following the installation procedure in this document.


Reason for Update

This is the latest Gateway-supported basic driver for the Emuzed Maui III-G TV Tuner card.  This driver resolves a TV video issue caused by utilizing the FM Radio and then switching back to the TV application.  This version also resolves some recording issues.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
