Overview

This software installs Windows Media Player 9, Gateway DMP-X20 Service Provider for Windows Media Player, and a user's guide.


Identification

The Gateway DMP-X20 digital jukebox has a label on the bottom of the device identifying the device along with the serial number as a DMP-X20.


Installation

Download the file to the desktop, and then use the following steps for all operating systems.

Note: You must have Network Administrator privileges to install the driver software. 

1.  On your desktop, double-click the 7514379.exe file.  Files extract to the C:\Cabs\7514379 folder.

2.  Close all open windows (except for this readme.txt file instructions are needed).

3.  From the Start menu, click Run.

4.  In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\7514379\DmpX20install.exe.  Click OK.

5.  In the Gateway DMP-X20 Software Install dialog box, verify that all check boxes are selected, and then click Install.

6.  Files copy. 

Note: If System Restore has been disabled, a Windows Media Player 9 dialog box displays.  Click OK.

7.  In the InstallShield Wizard dialog box, click Next.

8.  Files copy.

9.  In the InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box, click Finish.

10.  Files copy.

11.  In the Choose Destination Location dialog box, click Next.

12.  Files copy.

13.  Files continue to copy.

14.  In the Gateway DMP-X20 Software Install dialog box, click OK.

15.  In the next dialog box, click OK.

16.  An audible.com Internet Explorer window displays.  Close the window.

17.  Installation is complete.


Program Use

When this software is installed, it allows Windows Media Player to interface with the DMP-X20 digital jukebox.  Please see your user guide for more information.


Removal

Windows XP

1.  Open Control Panel. 

 If you are using the Windows XP default Start menu, from the Start menu, click Control Panel. 
 If you are using the Classic Start Menu, from the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs. 

 If you are in Category View, click Add or Remove Programs. 
 If you are in Classic View, double-click Add or Remove Programs. 

3.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click DMP-X20, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  Files remove. 

5.  In the Maintenance Complete dialog box, click Finish.

6.  In the Add or Remove Programs window, click Gateway DMP Service Provider, and then click Change/Remove.

7.  Files remove. 

8.  In the Maintenance Complete dialog box, click Finish.


Windows 98 SE or Windows Me

1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.  In Windows Me, if you do not see this icon, click View all Control Panel options. 

3.  In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box, click Windows Media Player system update (9 Series), and then click Add/Remove.

4.  In the Windows Media Player 9 Series dialog box, click Yes.

5.  Files remove.

6.  In the Windows Media Player 9 Series dialog box, click OK.

7.  In the next dialog box, click Yes to restart the computer.


Windows 2000

1.  From the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. 

2.  In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. 

3.  In the Add/Remove Programs window, click DMP-X20, and then click Change/Remove.

4.  Files remove. 

5.  In the Maintenance Complete dialog box, click Finish.

6.  In the Add/Remove Programs window, click Gateway DMP Service Provider, and then click Change/Remove.

7.  Files remove. 

8.  In the Maintenance Complete dialog box, click Finish.


Troubleshooting

Follow the removal procedure above, and then download the driver again.  Follow the installation procedure again, making sure not to skip a step.

Plug your DMP-X20 digital jukebox into its AC adapter.


Reason for Update

This is the initial release of the Gateway DMP-X20 20GB digital jukebox software.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
