Identification If you are receiving an Error 12 message when attempting to create Recovery Media using the Recovery Media Creator and you have an HLDS CD-RW/DVD combo drive model GCC-4481B, install this patch. Installation 1. Download the file to the desktop. 2. Close all open programs. 3. On the desktop, double-click the JC5_100.exe file. The needed files extract to the C:\Cabs\JC5_100 folder. 4. From the Start menu, click Run. 5. In the Run dialog box, type: C:\Cabs\JC5_100\JC5_100.exe. Click OK. 6. The firmware is updated. 7. In the JC5_AutoDownload_1.01A dialog box, click OK. The computer shuts down. Removal This utility cannot be removed. Troubleshooting If you have difficulty installing this file, download the file again, and then perform the installation steps. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
