SANbox Firmware 50140-05 Rev. F Firmware Version 3.04.30 Thank you for using the QLogic SANbox family of Fibre Channel switch products. These notes describe Corrective Code Release 3.04.30 of the SANbox firmware. There are no new features in this release. Firmware Installation ______________________________ If you are upgrading an existing switch, installation can be accomplished using either the SanSurfer Web based Management Application or with the following operations: a) tftp -i <ip_address> put M08030430.fls load or tftp -i <ip_address> put M16030430.fls load b) Verify the flash load passed (no flash load failed messages). If the load failed, then retry flash load. c) Power cycle the switch Content: __________________________ 1. Changed chassis discovery to reduce traffic in multistage reconfiguration of a large fabric. 2. Added handling of GA_NXT wrap around when the originating port goes offline or changes zones while the GA_NXT is being processed. 3. Modified get_chassis_status routines to return over temp status when high temp limits have been exceeded. 4. Modified high temp limit for CPU monitoring from 85C to 60C degrees. 5. Fixed problem writing/reading community strings. 6. Changed port code to send a LIP if a LISM is received while in Old Port mode. 7. Disabled AL mode when the port has not obtained sync. 8. Modify GIEIL response to include sysDescr info from the SNMP FA MIB. We will return the OEM_data, sysDescr information with the GIEIL payload. The sysDescr information can also be read through SNMP. 9. Correct problem setting up steering when extended credit mode is being used. 10. Added timeouts for obtaining buffers for internal config messages. Also changed to use small buffers when possible. 11. Correct Management Server GMAL command response conform to latest GS-3 Spec (6.42). 12. Added additional testing to Arb Loop Test. New code does a serdes loopback using a maximum size data frame on a port while in SL Port mode. 13. Bumped NWAD wait state in NVRAM memory region from 4 to 5 and in Flash region from 3 to 4. 14. Fixed a bug in TL_Get_Next_Loop_AL_PA. The old version got stuck in an infinite loop probing TL Loop devices if an ALPA value of 3A was chosen by a loop device. 15. Corrected a switch reset problem that occurred when a SANbox Director was linked into an existing fabric. 16. Add support for Unzoned Name Server in Management Server. Name server commands can now be sent to the management server, to get name server information without regard to zoning. 17. Management Server element logical name will now be the same as the snmp name. 18. Fa Mib 2.2 fix: faMibEventTimeStamp - The timestamps were corrected for the snmp events in the FA Mib EventTable. 19. Correct bugs found in management server, specifically commands that had to be routed to other switches were failing. 20. Heartbeat light will now blink NVRAM failure if a corrupt object is found in nvram. 21. Port input queue is flushed on lost sync. 22. Added ability to return a list of all initiators in an SL zone. 23. Added workaround for known tachlite problem in SL mode. The workaround repairs a corrupted LIRP frame that occurs when the tachlite is not the LIM and is presented with a LIRP frame containing zero AL_PAs. 24 Added traps for events, and changes in connUnitSensorStatus and portStatusto FA MIB 2.2 support. 25. Added lazer on/off cmd message (used only in manufacturing test). Known Issues: ------------------------------------------------------------- 1. SNMP Community Strings are not validated. The switch will respond to all queries. 2. Fibre Alliance 2.2 MIB Traps return an incorrect value for ConnUnitEventTypes. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
