In order to enable Multi-stage operation, you will need to install a the Multistage firmware on your switch as follows: Install M1620400.FLS on the MKII 16 Port Install M0820401.FLS on the MKII 8 Port Installation can be accomplished using either the MKII Switch Utilities or with the following command: a) tftp -i <ip_address> put m1620400.fls mkiiload (for MKII 16-port) or tftp -i <ip_address> put m0820401.fls mkiiload (for MKII 8-port) b) Verify the flash load passed (no flash load failed messages). If the load failed, then retry flash load. c) Power cycle the switch New Features in This Release ____________________________ 1. Adds bootp support to the MKII-Base 8. Ref Problem #A-000697. 2. When bootp is enabled and no bootp server responds, the management processor will revert to the IP address stored in flash memory. Ref Problem #A-000755. 3. Adds SNMP support to 8 port. Ref Problem #A-000676. Problems Fixed in This Release - Switch firmware and Management Processor ______________________________ 1. Rejected nameserver requests will be returned to 03 in the Rctl field. Ref Problem #A-000719. 2. The management processor will use bootp to determine it's IP address, whenever the continuous test mode is selected via hardware switch. This change is designed to facilitate factory burn-in and is not intended for customer use. Ref problem #A-000721. 3. Switch will return an LS_RJT in response to a flogin with a bad S_ID. Ref problem #A-000742. 4. Fixes improper set up of routing tables in a 3-stage configuration. Ref problem. #A-000746. 5. Fabric now sends RSCN's when disjoint segments of a fabric are joined. This allows HBA's to recognize when new devices are added to the fabric. Ref problem #A-000747. 6. Corrects erroneous error code when continuous test mode is selected on a multi-stage switch. Ref problem #A-000729. 7. The switch will now send out an RSCN when a fail over to an alternate cross connect link occurs. Ref problem #A-000767. 8. 8-port switch will not longer reset when a hot-swappable drive is removed. Ref problem #A-000727. 9. As released from the factory, switch will be configured to use bootp. Ref problem #A-000768. Switches updated in the field will see no effect. 10. Fixes Management Processor hang-ups that occurred during heavy Ethernet broadcast traffic. Ref problem #A-000769. 11. Switch will send out an OLS primitive, when a port is forced off-line. Ref Problem #A-000761. Known Problems _______________ - Trap alarm reporting is not supported in this release.
