  Driver Installation
  -------------------

  1.  Insert the NETGEAR FA511 Cardbus card into the Cardbus slot before
      powering on the system.
  2.  Click Start at the lower left corner.
  3.  Choose Settings, then select Control Panel.
  4.  In the Control Panel dialog box, double click the Network icon.
  5.  In the Network Settings window, click Adapters.
  6.  In the Network Adapters window, click Add.
  7.  In the Select Network Adapter window, click Have Disk.
  8.  Insert the FA511 Cardbus Card Drivers and Diagnostics disk and
      click OK.
  9.  From the Select OEM Option window, select NETGEAR FA511 Fast Ethernet
      Cardbus Card and click OK.
  10. The FA511 CardBus Card Setup screen appears.  Click OK to save.
  11. In the Network Settings dialog box, click Close.
  12. Click Yes to reboot your computer.


  Known Limitation
  ----------------
    Since Windows NT 4.0 does not provide support for Cardbus and the
    Cardbus enabler comes from the FA511 Cardbus driver, you cannot use
    the FA511 Cardbus Card with another PCMCIA device.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
