NETGEAR FA510 Fast Ethernet Cardbus Card
                  ----------------------------------------
Driver Installation for Microsoft Windows 95 or Win95a
             ------------------------------------------------------

  Getting Started
  ---------------

The initial releases of the Microsoft Windows 95 does not have support
for Cardbus interface. As a result, the NETGEAR FA510 Fast Ethernet
Cardbus Card driver has to contain a Cardbus enabler to allow the the
Cardbus card to work under the Win95 or Win95a environment. For the
FA510 Cardbus driver to function properly, the Win95 PCMCIA controller
  driver has to be disabled.

It is highly recommended that the system be upgraded to Win95B (OSR2)
or above where Cardbus support from the operating system is more
  complete.

  Determining the Win95 version
  -----------------------------

To determine which version of Windows 95 is on the computer, complete
    the following steps.

      - Click on Start button in the lower left corner of the Win95 screen.
      - Select Setting and click on Control Panel.
      - In the Control Panel window, double click on the System icon.
      - When the System Properties window appears, the version indication
for Windows 95 should be displayed. You have Windows 95 if it
        displays:

            Microsoft Windows 95
              4.00.950
                 or
            Microsoft Windows 95
              4.00.950A

Once determined that you have Win95 or Win95a, complete the following
two procedures for the FA510 Cardbus card driver to function properly.

Disabling PC Card Enabler in Win95
  ----------------------------------
    1. Please do not insert the FA510 Cardbus Card at this time.
    2. In the Control Panel, double-click the System icon.
    3. System Properties window will appear, click the Device Manager tab.
    4. Double-click PCMCIA Socket.
    5. Click PCIC or compatible PCMCIA controller.
    6. Click Remove.
    7. The Remove Configuration windows will appear. Click OK and System
        Settings Change window will appear.
    8. Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.

When you restart the computer the first time after removing the
PCIC device, you will be prompted to select a driver. Choose "Do
not install a driver". This prompt will not be shown again.

    2. When you restart the computer the first time after removing the
PCIC device, you will be prompted to select a driver. Choose DO NOT
install a driver. This prompt will not be shown again.
    3. Click on the Start button at the lower left corner of the screen.
    4. Choose Settings and click Control Panel.
    5. In the Control Panel window, double-click the Network icon.

        Win95" and click OK.
    10. In the Network window, click OK. (The FA510 dialog box appears
and displays various settings. An asterisk in any field indicates
that the current setting is being used. Use the Up or Down arrow
to adjust the setting until the asterisk disappears.)
    11. Click OK and the Copying Files window will appear.
    12. Insert your original Windows 95 CD and click OK. (If Windows 95 was
pre-installed on your computer, the necessary files can be located
        in the \WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS directory.)
    13. Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.

After rebotting, your computer will be ready to network with other
    computers.

  Known Limitation
  ----------------
Since Windows 95 or 95a does not provide support for Cardbus and the
Cardbus enabler comes from the FA510 Cardbus driver, you cannot use
the FA510 Cardbus Card with another PCMCIA device..
