Windows XP Readme.txt Driver File Contents (multiflash.exe)

ACOMDATA Multiflash Update File v.1.02

Follow these steps to update your Multiflash device.

1. Download the drivers from the following location.

	http:\www.acomdata.com/download/xp/multiflash.exe

2. Double click on the multiflash.exe file.

3. UNZIP the file to the defualt directory.  This will extract 99 files

4.  Run the setup.exe from the Drivers directory.

5.  If you have a previous version of the Acom Data MultiFlash driver the program will remove them before continueing the install.

6.  After the install is complete, restart the computer.

7.  After the system restarts, the computer will come up with the New Hardware Wizard dialog twice.  Use the Automatic  setting both times.

 
8.  Go back the the folder MultiFlash Update, run the setup.exe file from the Tools folder.

9.  Install the program to the defualt Onflash directory.

10.  When the setup is complete, locate and run the flash.exe file.(c:\onflash\flash.exe)

11. The screen will prompt you to choose which device you wish the update:
	1.  Device 1
		or
	2.  Device 2

12. First choose Device 1 and click OK.

13. At the next screen, click on the button that says Flash CF and SM.

14. The program will ask you if you are sure,  select yes.

15. After the program has completed the update, unplug the MultiFlash and click OK.

16. After the program closes, plug the MultiFlash back into the computer.

17. After you plug the MultiFlash back in, the computer will come up with the New Hardware Wizard.  Use the Automatic setting.

18. Run the flash.exe file once more.

19. This time select Device 2 and click OK.

20. At the next screen, click on the button that says Flash SD and MS.

21. The program will ask you if you are sure,  select yes.
	
22. After the program has completed the update, unplug the MultiFlash and click OK.

23. After the program closes, plug the MultiFlash back into the computer. The computer will come up with the New Hardware Wizard.  Use the Automatic setting.  If this does not occur follw the following steps.

	1.  Right click on My Computer.
	2.  Go to Properties.
	3.  Select the Hardware Tab.
	4.  Go to Device Manager.
	5.  Uninstall the OnSpec EEPROM from the Universal Serial Bus Class.
	6.  Click on the top of the tree. (the computers name)
	7.  Go to Action-Scan for Hardware changes.
	8.  The computer will come up with the New Hardware Wizard. Use the Automatic setting.

24. You are ready to go.

Windows XP users please note:

You may be propted that the drivers are not Windows XP certified.  Please click Continue Anyway.  These drivers are currently under going testing at Microsoft.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
