Readme.txt Brady Windows(R) NT / 2000 Printer Driver ver. 2.4 January 11, 2002 _____________________________________________________________ SETTING UP THE DRIVER: You should be familiar with your printer and have your printer User's Guide available when you set up the v2.4 Windows NT Printer Driver. In order for the driver to properly operate with the printer, you'll need to provide the driver with your printer and media settings. To access the printer’s setup options, go to the Printer Control Panel (from the Start menu select Settings, then Printers), right-click on the Printer icon, and select "Document Defaults" ("Printing Preferences" in Windows 2000). Click the Device tab, then make any necessary changes to the printer settings. You may need to consult your printer's settings (access your printer's settings by printing a Configuration Label or by referring to your User's Guide.) Press OK to apply your changes and then exit Printer Setup. See the help file for this driver for more information on setting up your printer. Please note that under Windows 2000, the printer's setup is accessed through the "Printing Preferences" option (rather than "Document Defaults"). _____________________________________________________________ NEW FEATURES The following features have been added to this version: 1) Support for the 200M-e has been added. 2) Support for the 200M-e 300 has been added. 3) Support for the 200MVP has been added. 4) Support for the 300MVP has been added. _____________________________________________________________ KNOWN ISSUES You may encounter the following problems when using this version of the driver: 1) Delta-shadowing when using printer resident fonts in a shaded cell (anytime they intersect with GDI data) 2)Zebra Scalable (printer resident font) support is limited to the lower 127 ASCII characters. 3) WYSIWYG for printer resident fonts may be slightly shifted. For example, a code 39 barcode that is centered on screen will print slightly to the right of center. 4)Some applications may not display or print the native fonts or barcodes. It some cases, it may be necessary to close the application being used, set the driver as the default driver, and then restart the application in order to get the native fonts and barcodes to function correctly. It may also be necessary to change the font size. 5)The driver installs set to Thermal Transfer media type. This means that the Windows Test Page initially prints using Thermal Transfer media instructions. If your printer is loaded with Direct Thermal media (no ribbon loaded) this will produce an error at the printer. The printer error should be cleared by the user. The driver should then be set to "Direct Thermal" on the "Device" tab in the setup dialog. _____________________________________________________________ UPGRADE ISSUES If you are upgrading from a previous version of our Windows NT printer driver, we recommend that you delete all existing instances of the old driver before proceeding to install the new version. For Windows 2000 compatibility, the structure of the driver has been altered slightly, and will not work properly with existing installs of a previous version.
