Artec AT6 SCSI Scanner drivers for Windows XP
---------------------------------------------

To install The Artec AT6 SCSI Scanner in Windows XP I had to use a combination of: a win98 DLL, and win 2000 & win 3.1/9x/NT scanner drivers.

I used the win2000 drivers because i figure they would be newer then the NT drivers and would work better with WinXP. The 3.1/9x/NT drivers are needed because the win2000 drivers didn't have the twain drivers (The setup program that you get from the Artec website for win2000 messes up when you try to run it). The win98 DLL is needed when you install the win2000 drivers (win2000 may have the DLL file also but this one was easier to find and worked).

Install Instructions:

First make sure the scanner was turned on before you started WinXP, and be sure the SCSI card is installed (The card that came with the scanner didn't work for me in win 2000 so you most likely will need a new one for winXP also. I have a PCI adaptec card that works fine.)
When the card is installed and the scanner was on when winXP booted the OS will most likely open up a wizard saying it detected the scanner. If not go into the device manager and open the scanner properties and click 'update driver' (or something like that).

Now select advanced and point the search to the 'win2000' directory that you extracted from this archive. It should find the driver and install it. Now it is a good possibility that it will say it detected the scanner again. Just install it the same way as the first. It found my scanner 8 times (I suspect this happens because the scanner is so old, but the scanner still works fine with all 8 of them installed.), just installed them all the same.

Now you need to run the setup.exe in the 'win31_9x_NT' directory that you extracted from this archive. When it askes a question just answer with the choice that keeps what is there already and only installs the newer files. Then restart your computer.

Now open your favorite image editor and it should work (It worked in Photoshop 6 for me)... Enjoy...

Disclaimer: I am only providing this as a guide and have no afilliation with Artec at all. I tried to get help from them for winXP drivers but they wouldn't return my E-Mails. If you have problems you are on your own. What i put in this text file is all i know and i doubt Artec will do much for you (The scanner is pretty old so i really can't blaime them, but they could return e-mails sent to their support address)... Good Luck!
