Download Manager ================= The Download Manager allows you to manage color profiles, overlays, and fonts saved in your printer's hard disk and memory. There is no limit to the number of files downloaded to Flash as long as the sum of space used by downloaded files doesn't exceed 1.6 MB. >>You can download the Download Manager and additional software for your printer from our Internet website at www.konicaminolta.net/printer/. Installation ========= >>The Software Utilities CD-ROM has an automatic installer program. Use the following installation instructions if you want to manually install the Download Manager from the CD-ROM. 1. Insert the Software Utilities CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. If the auto-installer opens, close it. 2. Using Windows Explorer, select your CD-ROM drive and browse to the folder >:\utilities\dlmanager (where > is the letter of your CD-ROM drive). 3. Double-click on the setup.exe icon. The Setup program automatically detects the Windows platform, and opens the Install Wizard. Follow the directions on the screen. 4. When the Information message box appears, select OK. 5. After the installation is complete, remove the CD-ROM from your CD-ROM drive and store it in a safe place. Starting the Application ================= The Download Manager can be opened from the Start/Programs/Download Manager menu and from tabs within the KONICA MINOLTA PostScript printer driver. Using the Download Manager ========================= >>See the Download Manager's online help for additional information. Downloading Color Profiles --------------------------------------- Use the following procedure to download a color profile to the printer's disk or Flash. >>The Download Options controls are deactivated (grayed-out) if the Delete Options button is selected. Select the Download Options button to activate the Download Options controls. 1. Select the Color Profile button. 2. Select a printer. 3. Using Browse, choose the Color Profile file(s). 4. Select Disk or Flash to identify where the printer will save the file. 5. Choose Download. 6. When you see the message indicating that the download was successful, choose OK. If you have no more files to download to your printer, close the application. Downloading an Overlay ---------------------------------- Use the following procedure to download an overlay from your workstation to the printer's hard disk. >>The Download Options controls are deactivated (grayed-out) if the Delete Options button is selected. Select the Download Options button to activate the Download Options controls. 1. Select the Overlay button. 2. Select a printer. 3. Using Browse, choose the overlay file(s). 4. Select Disk or Flash to identify where the printer saves the file. 5. Choose Download. 6. When you see the message indicating that the download was successful, choose OK. If you have no more files to download to your printer's hard disk, close the application. Downloading a PostScript Font --------------------------------------------- Use the following procedure to download a PostScript font from your workstation to your printer. >>The Download Options controls are deactivated (grayed-out) if the Delete Options button is selected. Select the Download Options button to activate the Download Options controls. 1. Select the PS Font button. 2. Select a printer. 3. Using Browse, choose the font file(s). 4. Choose Disk, Flash, or Memory to specify where you want the font(s) downloaded. 5. Choose Download. 6. When you see the message indicating that the download was successful, choose OK. If you have no more files to download to your printer, close the application. Downloading a PCL Font ------------------------------------ Use the following procedure to download a PostScript font from your workstation to your printer. >>The Download Options controls are deactivated (grayed-out) if the Delete Options button is selected. Select the Download Options button to activate the Download Options controls. 1. Select the PCL Font button. 2. Select a printer. 3. Using Browse, choose the font file(s). 4. Choose Download. The PCL Font ID Dialog appears. 5. Enter an ID for the PCL file and then select OK. The dialog closes as the file is downloaded to your printer. >>If you are downloading multiple PCL Fonts, the dialog will reappear for each file in the list of files to be downloaded. When all PCL font files in this list have been given IDs and downloaded, the dialog does not reappear. 6. When you see the message indicating that the download was successful, choose OK. If you have no more files to download to your printer, close the application. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
