QMS CROWNNET PRINT UTILITY FOR WINDOWS
======================================
The QMS CrownNet Print Utility is a dual-purpose application for network
printing in a Windows environment. It provides two functions:
1. Installs and maintains CrownNet ports as Windows printer ports.
2. Captures and monitors print jobs directed to CrownNet ports.
REQUIREMENTS
============
The QMS CrownNet Print Utility requires one of the following:
* Windows 3.1--
with LAN Server/LAN Manager Workstation Service
* Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT (3.5 and above), or Windows 95--
with Microsoft Network (NetBIOS/NetBEUI)
NOTE: Print Manager must be activated in both cases.
HOW TO INSTALL THE QMS CROWNNET PRINT UTILITY FOR WINDOWS
=========================================================
You MUST install the CrownNet Print Utility from a floppy disk. It
cannot be copied onto your hard drive and then installed. It will not work.
You will get errors within Windows at the time of installation if you
do not install from a floppy diskette.
The installation program creates a CrownNet Print Utility group with a
CrownNet Print Utility icon. The files take up less that 200 KB of hard
disk space.
1. With Windows running, insert the QMS CrownNet Print Utility disk
in your computer's 3.5" disk drive.
2. In Program Manager, from the File menu choose Run...
3. In the Run dialog box type x:\install (where x is the letter
of the drive in which you inserted the disk), and choose OK.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen. You will be asked for the
following information:
- Destination drive and subdirectory for the program files
(the default is C:\CROWNPUW)
- Destination drive and subdirectory for the spool directory
(the default is C:\~)
5. When the installation is complete, you are prompted to exit from
the installation program and return to Program Manager. Choose OK.
6. Since the CrownNet Print Utility must be running when you print to a
CrownNet port, we strongly recommend that you copy the CrownNet Print
Utility icon into your Windows Startup folder.
