December 16, 1992 QMSPRINT FILES FOR MICROSOFT WORD. PRD support for: QMS 860 Print System QMS 1725 Print System QMS-PS1700 Printer QMS-PS2000 Printer QMS-PS3200 Printer This driver was created on Microsoft Word 5.5. According to Microsoft the driver can be used with Microsoft Word 5.x to 6.x. This driver includes QMS DOC commands in front of the Postscript print file that forces the emulation into the Postscript mode. This is a major improvement to the functionality of the QMS printers in the Microsoft Word environment as the printer can be used reliably in the ESP mode. Printer functionality is selectable from the PRINT dialog box, or from the PRINTER SETUP dialog box. This includes the duplex option. There is an option in the setup to change the resolution, but this DOES NOT send the appropriate codes to the printer to have it change from 300dpi to 600dpi. This selection only changes to graphics capability of the application. The driver will also support multiple bin selection options from the PRINT dialog box. Note: The QMS860, QMS-PS2000 and QMS-PS3200 driver was implemented as if the printer had a full complement of paper trays, your printer may not have all optional trays available. The following Fonts are supported by this version of the .PRD file. Additional Fonts can be added to the file if the user has the Adobe AFM files. This is the first iteration in the development of these drivers. I welcome any suggestions of improvement or identification of malfunction. Jay Hjellum QMS Corp.
