Installing the Windows XP Printer driver for the AL-1000 1) Download the Windows XP printer driver zip file for the AL-1000 from our web site. 2) Have a formatted blank floppy disk ready for copying the driver files onto. 3) Unzip onto the blank floppy disk the AL-1000 Windows XP driver files using Winzip or the built-in Zip option of Windows XP. Make sure to select as the destination A:\ (30 files in total) 4) Start the "Add a printer" wizard in the Printer and Faxes Folder to install the AL-1000 printer. 5) At the "Install Printer Software" dialogue box click "Have Disk" The "Install from disk" dialogue box opens up. Make sure the "Copy Manufacturer's files from" points to your floppy drive and reads A:\ Click Ok The next dialogue box will show the Sharp Al-1000 Series. Click Next Click Next and Finish to finalise the installation. At the "Windows Logo testing" dialogue box, click "Continue Anyway" The driver files will be copied to your PC finalising the AL1000 printer installation.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
