BANYAN.TXT Driver File Contents (multi231.zip)

This file offers help for installation of the Apex MultiCard on a
Banyan workstation.

There are 3 steps involved - detailed as follows.

1. Run the PCCONFIG program (supplied by Banyan) and configure Banyan for
   the Ethernet card running on IRQ 10 (default interrupt for LAN).  
   You must select SHARED INTERRUPT.

2. Modify CONFIG.SYS using a text editor so that the following drivers are 
   placed at the bottom of the file and loading in the specified order.

                Note: some paramaters may be different.

Device=C:\APEXEM\APEXEM.SYS /C=C:\APEXEM\APEXEM.CFG /F=C:\BAN\PROTOCOL.INI
Device=C:\BAN\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\BAN
Device=C:\APEXEM\EMNDIS20.DOS

3. The following lines need to be in the PROTOCOL.INI file.

                Note: You can use a text editor to cut and paste
                      this information to your PROTOCOL.INI file.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
