DRIVERS FOR OTHER OPERATING SYSTEMS:

The Eagle Technology EP2000plus ethernet adapter card is
compatible with the Novell NE2000 and NE2000plus adapters. As
a result, it will operate with software drivers written for the
NE2000 or NE2000plus that are provided with third party network
and operating system products. To use the EP2000plus with these
products, simply choose the driver for the "Novell NE2000" or
"NE2000-compatible adapter" when loading and configuring the
software.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR NETWARE ENVIRONMENTS: 802.2 Default Frame
Type

The default frame type is the Ethernet frame format that is used
if a FRAME parameter is not specified in the NET.CFG file for
workstations or on the command line for server drivers.

Novell's new Ethernet ODI drivers (used in NetWare 4.XX servers
and DOS ODI workstations) default to the 802.2 frame type. Older
Ethernet drivers, including those used in NetWare 3.XX servers,
default to the 802.3 frame type. The change to 802.2 provides
increased compatibility with future network applications. More
than one frame type can be used, but all frame types used on the
network must be loaded on the server.

Workstation driver frame types can be changed from the default to
another frame type by setting the FRAME frame_type parameter in
the NET.CFG file.

Valid frame types are:
     ETHERNET_802.2
     ETHERNET_802.3
     ETHERNET_II
     ETHERNET_SNAP

The following is an example of a NET.CFG file that sets the frame
type to 802.3. It can be created by using any DOS text editor.

     LINK DRIVER NE2000
        FRAME ETHERNET_802.3
        Protocol IPX 0 Ethernet_802.3

For more information on NET.CFG parameters see the NETWARE
WORKSTATION FOR DOS or ODI FOR DOS USER'S GUIDE.

The 3.XX or 4.XX server LAN driver frame type can be configured
by using the FRAME = frame-type parameter when loading the
server driver.

The following command will show how to load the server driver
using a non-default frame type:

     load NE2000 frame=ethernet_802.3
