The driver has been tested with Microsoft LAN Manager, 3Com 3+Open, IBM LAN Server, IBM PC LAN Program, DEC Pathworks, and other NDIS-compatible network operating systems and protocol stacks. * The PROTOCOL.INI file contains configuration information. ============================================================================= FILES PROVIDED ============================================================================= * L100.DOS DOS NDIS2 driver * PROTOCOL.INI Driver operational parameters and binding information ============================================================================= DEVICE DRIVER INSTALLATION GUIDE ============================================================================= The following instructions describe how to install Artisoft's LANtastic Network Software v6.0 with the our driver file. If Artisoft's LANtastic Network Software v6.0 is installed and you want to install just the our driver, skip this section and go to "Installing the LCI Driver Only". * Installing Artisoft's LANtastic Network Software v6.0 and the our Driver This procedure describes installing Artisoft's LANtastic Network Software v6.0 together with the driver files. It is designed to expedite the driver installation. 1. Edit the PROTOCOL.INI file you copied from diskette to read as follows: [L100_NIF] Drivername = L100$ 2. Insert the Artisoft's LANtastic Network Software v 6.0 Disk 1 of 4 in your computer floppy drive. 3. Type: A:\INSTALL 4. Press [Enter]. 5. Follow the screen prompts until the Select Network Adapter Window prompts you for a LAN driver. 6. When the Select Network Adapter Window prompts you for a LAN driver, select "NDIS Support for Network Adapters", then select OK. 7. When the program prompts you for the driver diskette, insert the ConfigDisk in your computer floppy drive. 8. Specify the path for the modified PROTOCOL.INI on the ConfigDisk. 9. Select OK. 10. Continue with the LANtastic Network Software v6.0 driver installation procedure until completed. 11. Reboot your system. * Installing the our Driver Only The following instructions assume that Artisoft's LANtastic Network Software v6.0 is already installed. The procedure installs the our driver only. If you are using Artisoft's LANtastic Network Software v6.0 and want to install the our driver: 1. Double-click on the Control Panel icon in the Main window. 2. Double-click on the Network icon. 3. In the Options area, select the Adapters icon. 4. If you need to remove an adapter, select that adapter, then select "Remove". When a message asks if you are sure you want to remove the adapter, select "Yes". 5. Select "Add". The Install Network Adapter dialog box appears. 6. Select the our adapter you want to install, then select "OK". The Install Driver dialog box appears. 7. Type the path of the driver (for example, A:\NDIS\DOS), then select "OK". The Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter dialog box appears. 8. Select "OK" when each of the next two dialog boxes appear. 9. Select "Close". The Network Settings dialog box appears. 10. Select "OK". You are prompted whether you want to accept the options you selected and restart your computer, or return to DOS. 11. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
