=============================================================================
* This driver supports the Siemens OfficeLAN PCI 10/100 TX Fast Ethernet
Adapter.
=============================================================================
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
=============================================================================
Hardware Requirements:
* IBM-compatible personal computer (PC), 80486 or higher with PCI bus
supporting bus master mode.
* Siemens OfficeLAN PCI 10/100 TX Fast Ethernet Adapter
Software Requirements:
* Windows NT v3.51 or later

HARDWARE INSTALLATION GUIDE
=============================================================================
* See the User Guide for complete installation instructions.
* When installing the Siemens OfficeLAN PCI 10/100 TX Fast Ethernet Adapter
in a PCI computer, make sure the slot you select supports bus master
operations.
* No specialized setup is necessary for motherboards with automatic
PCI parameterization (most new PCs support it).
* For motherboards with bus master jumpers and interrupt jumpers for
PCI slots:
1. Using the appropriate motherboard jumper, enable bus master operations
for the selected PCI slot.
2. Using the appropriate motherboard jumper, select the interrupt to the
selected PCI slot.
3. Using your computer setup menu:
* Enable the bus master on the PCI slot.
* Enable I/O on the PCI slot.
* Define the interrupt number on the PCI slot.

DEVICE DRIVER INSTALLATION GUIDE
=============================================================================
1. Boot your computer from Windows NT.
2. In the Program Manager Main window, double-click on the Control Panel
icon.
3. Double-click on "Network".
The Network Settings dialog box appears.
4. Select "Add Adapter".
5. Select "<Other> Requires disk from manufacturer".
6. Select "Continue".
7. Insert the ConfigDisk when prompted to do so.
8. Type the directory A:\WINNT .
9. Select the "Siemens OfficeLAN PCI 10/100 TX Fast Ethernet Adapter".
10. Select Connection Type and Transmit Threshold size (TxThreshold)
The ConnectionType option lets you choose the connection type at which
your adapter operates.
Available modes:
o AUTODETECT In AUTODETECT mode the driver
supports run-time auto swap function.
You can auto swap during run time
from one hub to another.
o TP_10 10Base-T Half-Duplex mode
o TP_10+FulDuplex 10Base-T Full-Duplex mode
o TP_100 100Base-Tx Half-Duplex mode
o TP_100+FulDuplex 100Base-Tx Full-Duplex mode
The TxThreshold lets you choose the number of bytes read from the host memory into
the transmit FIFO before the transmission. If the frame length is less than the
threshold value, the adapter will start to transmit after a full frame is in the FIFO.
The performance is better, if the smaller value is chosen. But if you have compatible
problem, the Store and Forward or the bigger value is recommended.
Available modes:
o Store and Forward Disable the transmit threshold control. The adapter
reads the whole frame from the host memory to transmit
FIFO first, then starts to transmit.
o 36 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and
establish transmit threshold initial value to 36 bytes.
When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times,
the value will be increased dynamically.
o 72 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and
establish transmit threshold initial value to 72 bytes.
When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times,
the value will be increased dynamically.
o 96 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and
establish transmit threshold initial value to 96 bytes.
When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times,
the value will be increased dynamically.
o128 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and
establish transmit threshold initial value to 128 bytes.
When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times,
the value will be increased dynamically.
o 160 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and
establish transmit threshold initial value to 160 bytes.
When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times,
the value will be increased dynamically.
o 256 Bytes Enable the dynamic transmit threshold control and
establish transmit threshold initial value to 256 bytes.
When the transmit FIFO is underflow too many times,
the value will be increased dynamically.
11. Upon completion, the adapter name appears in the Installed Adapter
Cards list of the Network Setting box.
12. Click on [Close] to complete the Network Setting initialization.
13. Reboot the system.
