WHATS INCLUDED

ezLCD.pdf - ezLCD users  manual

ezLCD_03k.hex - ezLCD current firmware (programmed in your ezLCD already) but required by ezLCDrom to modify ezLCD stored bitmaps used by ICON command.

ezLCDrom - ezLCD configuration utility for setting baud rate, uploading firmware with embedded ICON's

Av232.exe - An ezLCD simulator and exerciser works on com ports only and bitmaps must be                                    uncompressed samples in \bmp\av232\ .

ez_Bascom_AVR.txt - App note on running ezLCD off AVR micro (STK500) wit BASCOM Basic compiler

ez_BasicStamp.txt -  App note on running ezLCD off BS2 Basic Stamp from Parallax 


 
Folder: Bitmaps
Contains a bunch of bitmaps, which can be used by ezLCDrom utility.
Bitmap requirements:
Format: 24-bit .bmp file
Max Width: 240
Max Height: 160
Bitmaps wider than 240 pixels or higher than 160 pixels will be rejected by ezLCDrom utility.
 
Press F1 or click the ? for help on ezLCDrom. 

Adding Your Own Bitmaps

Assumes ezLCD connected to PC and program jumper is on!!
1) Run ezLCDrom
2) Click 'Load' button and load current firmware file (ezLCD_03k.hex
3) Click 'Bitmaps' tab
4) Click 'Load .bmp' button to load any 24 bit bit map and it will show up in scratchpad window
5) Click 'copy' up button to put in firmware. (note: you will have to delete our sample bitmaps to make room)
6) After adding your bitmaps you should click 'Save' to save a firmware copy on your P.C. with your bitmaps
7) Click 'Program ezLCD' to load firmware modified with your bitmaps in ezLCD
8) You need to note th bitmap number in column 1 of the ezLCD Bitmap List for calling up the bitmaps in your program using the ICON command described earlier. If you forget the ICON numbers you can load the firmware In ezLCDrom and copy them to the scratchpad by clicking down 'copy' button to view or put your ezLCD in test mode and it will display them in a slide show fashion.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
