PLANEX FW-300TX PCMICA Fast Ethernet Adapter
                   Windows 98 Driver Installation

Windows 98 provides a complete "Plug and Play" System that
automatically recognizes and configures PLANEX FW-300TX.

Before installing the PLANEX FW-300TX adapter, Windows's PCMCIA
service must be installed and enabled. This service can be started
   in the Control Panel.

Driver Installation Steps for Windows 98:

       1) Insert PLANEX FW-300TX adapter in one of the PCMCIA Slots and start
          Windows 98.

       2) The "Found new hardware Wizard" dialog box appears.
Select "Search for new driver (Recommended)", click the "Next" button.

       3) Select "Specify a location".

       4) Insert the PLANEX FW-300TX driver diskette in the floppy drive (e.g. A:.)
          Type "X:\Win98" and click OK.

Note: X: means the drive that contains Planex FW-300TX driver, such as floppy
                or CD-ROM.

       5) Windows 98 will find PLANEX FW300 driver on floppy drive, X:\WIN98\NETFW300.INF,
          click "Next" button.

       6) The installation process copies all the required files to the hard disk.
Please wait for the process to finish. If the process prompts the location
of the Windows 98 system files, place the Windows 98 CD in the CD-ROM drive
and enter the location of the CD-ROM drive in the dialog box.

       7) Click "Finish" to complete the installation process.

       8) Reboot the machine to start the network.

   Note:

When Windows 98 and the Network is up and running, it is not
recommended to remove the PLANEX FW-300TX adapter from the
PCMCIA slot without telling the system first. Before you remove
the adapter, please follow these steps:

      1) Double click on the My Computer icon, and then double click on
         the Control Panel icon.
      2) Double click on the PCMCIA icon. The "PC Card (PCMCIA) Properties"
         window appears.
      3) Select "PLANEX FW-300TX PCMICA Fast Ethernet Adapter" from
the list, and then click the Stop button.
      4) Wait until the message box with the "You may safely remove the
         device" message appears. Click OK.
      5) Remove the PLANEX FW-300TX adapter from the PCMCIA slot.

If you do not follow these steps and just pull the adapter from
the PCMCIA slot, the system may hang and you have to reboot the
      system.
