AMI 466 Megaraid Express Plus Firmware Release
----------------------------------------------
NOTE: THIS IMAGE CAN BE USED WITH FPM OR EDO MEMORY
ON THE MegaRAID Express 200 (Series 466). YOU MUST
SELECT THE TYPE OF MEMORY YOU ARE USING IN CTRL-M
(OBJECTS -> ADAPTER -> MEMORY TYPE). FAILURE TO DO SO
COULD CAUSE YOUR SYSTEM TO HANG. Look on AMI's web
site for information about the supported memory.
1. OEM Name : AMI
2. Release Date: : 06/23/2000
3. New Version Release : GH6E
(BIOS version 1.48, CNTL-M version S1.06)
4. Previous Version Release: : GH6E
(BIOS version 1.44, CTRL-M version S1.06)
FW:GH6E/Bios:1.48/Ctrl-M:S1.06:
------------------------------
1. It does not print "PMM Checksum Error" debug message any more
2. 2-seconds delay is put after it prints the message such as
"Ctrl-m /ctrl-h utility will be executed after POST" in presence
of PMM - the purpose is to make the message visible to the user
in a fast system such as AMI's MEGADUAL .
3. This version leaves ctrlm information for use from motherboard bios
in case hooking INT-19 does not work on some AMI motherboard for
ctrlm execution.
FW:GH6E/Bios:1.44/Ctrl-M:S1.06:
------------------------------
1. A disk responding with an ASC/ASCQ of 04 03 "Logical Unit Not Ready,
ManualIntervention Required" caused the controller to hang on boot,
and wait for the disk to be removed. The controller now continues boot
and fails the drive.
2. The maximum medium & non_medium error counters have been increased from
32 to 255. Previously the disk would be failed once the drive reached 32
medium errors. The counter now goes to 255 and then loops around to 0 again,
only one byte is allotted for medium errors. The drive is not failed until
all spare blocks are allocated and the drive responds back that it can no
longer allocate spare sectors.
3. MegaRAID BIOS updated to support Post Memory Management(PMM)
feature provided on some Intel Motherboards. Without this change
the MegaRAID controller would sometimes hang during POST. With
this change, Ctrl-M will be started at the end of POST.
Features:
---------
Span Support: 4
SMART Support: Yes
Type of SAF_TE: GEM (HP-style)
4GB support: Yes
Memory Support: Any (EDO & FPM)
Auto-Rebuild support: Yes
BBS Support: Yes
Cluster Support: No
Known limitations/restrictions:
-------------------------------
1. On some Intel platforms, the Megaraid controller may show
up twice under the hard drive option in the boot section of the
motherboard Bios (especially if there are more than one
Megaraid controller in the system). When this happens, you
will not be able to boot your system or go into Ctrl-M. The
system will hang at the end of POST. A workaround is to select
the reset configuration option in the Intel motherboard Bios. Intel
is aware of this problem and will be upgrading their motherboard Bios.

-------------
