Major Firmware Changes since last release: 15

1.	Activity LED support enabled and revised

2.	It has been implemented to disable write cache as a factory default option

3.	Write even though medium errors found on more than one physical drives in RAID 5

5.	Timeout value for SATA SAF-TE command is increased, in order to better support all SATA back planes

6.	The problem of JMR backplane time-out is resolved by implementing a special polling mechanism

7.	FW was stuck while retrying a timed-out backplane command in a polling mode with interrupts masked. Changes made in FW to properly retry the timed-out command and come out from the retry loop

8.	Data corruption occurs when read or write cached logical drive is made offline, replace one of its physical drive with a new drive and make the LD back online.The cache lines created during old physical drive were not invalidated when the logical goes offline and online back. This was causing the data corruption. We now invalidate all old cache lines when a logical drive state is changed from offline to online. This will address the data corruption problem

9.	IDE generic commands time out value has been increased from 31 to 33 seconds in order to better support drives from various vendors

10.	Fiwed when running heavy I/Os on write back logical drives and power cycling the system once in particular interval, data corruption occurs eventually because during power-up, FW sometimes doesn’t flush cache even though the cache is dirty

11.	Fixed System hangs when running heavy I/Os on write back logical drives with the stripe size 128K

12.	Adapter property of PCP and utilities show incorrect (160 MB) adapter speed. The adapter speed call for SATA was not implemented before, so an incorrect value was returned. We’ve now implemented the command for SATA as well

Installation:
=============
MAKE SURE TO FLASH THIS FIRMWARE ONLY WHEN USING A MEGARAID SCSI 150-4/6 CONTROLLER FROM LSI LOGIC CORPORATION.

1. Create a bootable floppy.  This floppy should be a basic boot disk without a config.sys or autoexec.bat; if using a Windows 98 Boot disk, bypass these files by holding down the left shift key. 

2. Take a second blank floppy, and extract all the files from the .ZIP with the firmware in it.

3. Reboot the system, and boot from the DOS bootable floppy.  At the A:> prompt, remove the first disk and insert the second disk.

4. At the A:> prompt, type MFLASH and hit enter.  The MegaRAID flash utility will start.

5. There will be prompts asking if this is the correct adapter, and the correct image.  Say yes to both.

6. The firmware will flash.  There will be a prompt to reboot the system When the controller has been completely flashed.
