Purpose:

  - The program allows DOS user to load BIOS into Atmel Flash AT29C512
    /AT29C010A or Winbond Flash W29EE512 or SST 29EE512/29EE010 on
    Ultra-Wide SCSI, LVD/Ultra2-Wide and Fast/Ultra SCSI PCI host
    apater board.

Functions: 

  - The program can load new BIOS into the Flash chip of AdvanSys 
	Ultra or Ulra-Wide SCSI host adapters.
  - The program allows Ultra and Ultra-Wide adapters, one after the other,
	to be loaded in the same session.

Process:

  -     1. The program detects the type of board (Fast/Ultra or Ultra-Wide
           or Ultra2-Wide SCSI).
        2. The program will load default BIOS's BIN file on each type board,
           or it will load the speicfied file with command on each kind board.  
	3. The program writes in the new BIOS.
	4. If there are multiple Flashable AdvanSys adapters in the PC, the 
	   the program lets the user load additional adapters.
        5. The program exits and automatically boots system. 

Additional Requirments:

  - The following files must be copied into a "\advscsi" directory in order
	for the BIOS loading program to find them.

    ADVDFLSH.EXE
    UWPCMAC.BIN       // The default BIOS code for Ultra-Wide adapter
    UTRPCMAC.BIN      // The default BIOS code for Ultra adapter
    PCMAC.BIN         // The default BIOS code for Fast adapter
    ABP950UW.BIN      // The default BIOS code for 2 channel Ultra-Wide adapter

Instructions:

  - Boot MS_DOS 6.22.
  - Type ADVDFLSH at DOS prompt, hit return and follow the prompts.
  
  - For instruction, type ADVDFLSH /?

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
