Major Firmware Changes since last release:
==========================================

1. Improve handling of hot spares in multiple RAID groups.

2. When O/S in on the 40th LD, OS times out during initialization. Fixed.

3.  Delayed Write function modified.

4. Fixed BSOD and controller hang at post when doing remove drive operation.

5. Running I/O on RAID1 across channels and failing one enclosure could crash the O/S. Fixed.

6. Data errors while trying to access tape drives. Fixed.

7. Improved handling of hot spares in multiple RAID groups.

8. Fixed problems with TUR commands.

9. Maxtor drives are causing the FW to hang with Q Depth 0 command. Fixed.

10. If the card has NO configuration and Patrol Read is started then Configuration Utility may hang.

11. FW hangs when doing a sequential read on a degraded array with an error. Fixed.

12. Numerous fixes and enhancements to CTRL-M and WebBIOS.

Important Notes:
==================
1. Force boot option is always set to ON when changing WebBIOS BIOSconfig option to user,disk, or nvram. This is being investigated

2. When user changes from Webbios to Ctrl-M the controller may lock up. The user has to do a hard reboot to get functionality back. This is being investigated.

3. Background Initialization (BGI) will start on all redundant drives that have not been fully initialized. BGI will start within five minutes of creating the logical drive.

4. Temp Raid Offline is not supported in this in this version

Installation:
=============
MAKE SURE TO FLASH THIS FIRMWARE ONLY WHEN USING A MEGARAID SCSI 320-2X or 320-4X CONTROLLER FROM LSI LOGIC CORPORATION.

1. Create a bootable floppy. This floppy should be a basic boot disk without a config.sys or autoexec.bat; if using a Windows 98 Boot disk, bypass these files by holding down the left shift key.

2. Take a second blank floppy, and extract all the files from the .ZIP with the firmware in it.

3. Reboot the system, and boot from the DOS bootable floppy. At the A:> prompt, remove the first disk and insert the second disk.

4. At the A:> prompt, type MFLASH and hit enter. The MegaRAID flash utility will start.

5. There will be prompts asking if this is the correct adapter, and the correct image. Say yes to both.

6. The firmware will flash. There will be a prompt to reboot the system When the controller has been completely flashed.
