LSI Logic SDMS 4.0 PCI SCO UnixWare C8XX HBA Diskette Building Instructions

To create a C8XX HBA diskette to use with UnixWare 2.1.3 and UnixWare 7, you
must copy the raw dd image file onto a 1.44 Mbytes diskette. The process
for doing this depends upon what operating system you are using to create
the diskette.

For UNIX System Users

Follow these steps to create the BTLD diskette:

1. Insert a 3.5-inch blank diskette into the diskette drive.

    At the UNIX prompt, type:

    dd if=/<path>/unixware.dd of=/dev/fd0

The <path> represents the directory where you will copy the dd image file.

2. For UnixWare 2.1.3, the dd image file is found in the zipped file that you
downloaded from the LSI Logic web site.

3. For UnixWare 7, the dd image file is found in the zipped file that you
downloaded from the LSI Logic web site.

This command will dd the image to the blank diskette to create a BTLD diskette.

For DOS System Users

1. Use a utility that will copy the raw dd image onto a 1.44 Mbytes diskette.
RAWRITE3.COM, which is a public domain utility, is available. Instructions
for using this utility are included in its accompanying RAWRITE3.DOC file.

2. For UnixWare 2.1.3, the dd image is located in the zipped file you downloaded
from the LSI Logic web site.

3. For UnixWare 7, the dd image is located in the zipped file you downloaded
from the LSI Logic web site.

4. RAWRITE3.COM is included within the zipped file you downloaded from the
   LSI Logic web site.

After the image has been copied to a 3.5-diskette, use this BTLD
diskette for SCO UnixWare installations as instructed.
