IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP DRIVERS

The Mylex driver, dac2w2k.sys, that is included with Microsoft
Windows XP does not support more than one Mylex Controller
if the controller is one of the following: AcceleRAID 160,
170, 352, ExtremeRAID 2000 and 3000. Using the Microsoft included
driver may result in a "blue screen" if two or more controllers are
in the system during Windows XP installation. Adding a controller to
an existing system may also result in a "blue screen" if the Windows
XP driver is not updated according to the instructions below. This problem
does not affect the AcceleRAID 150, 250, eXtremeRAID 1100
or DAC960PG/PJ which use the dac960nt.sys.

If you are going to install Microsoft XP in a system
with more than one Mylex controller, you will need to load the
Mylex Windows XP driver provided by Mylex and available
on Mylex CDs. Follow the installation procedures for
loading the new drivers using the F6 key as described
in the "PCI Disk Array Controller Drivers for Windows XP
Installation Guide and User Manual". Instructions
are in Chapter 2: "PCI Drivers for Windows XP."

If you are going to install an additional Mylex
Controller to a Windows XP system that already has
a controller, you will need to make sure that the
system has the updated driver before you start.
Then install the controller and load the updated
driver once more to both controllers on the next
power up. You can follow the instructions below:
