[Subject]: AW37 Ver R2.0 Plug and Play sound card setup program for windows 95/98.
(Based on Crystal ver 2.70 driver .)
[Install]:
Install Audio card driver for Win'98 .
(a) Removing all sound card drivers first if you have installed any
sound card drivers before :
If you have installed the audio driver or any other
sound card driver , please uninstall these sound card
drivers before install the new audio card's driver.
Please follow the [Uninstall] section for detailed instruction .
(b) Insert audio card , then power on the machine :
After inserting the audio card to your machine , then power
on your machine .
(c) Insert the Audio setup disk :
Because the Audio card's Plug and Play property , windows 98
will auto detect the Audio card . During installation ,you
will see some pictures below :
(1) Windows 98 will auto create the information for Audio card .
(2) You will see a picture for two choices . And the default
is setting to " Search for a best driver for your device. " .
*(3) Click "OK" . Then you'll see another picture asking you to
insert the Audio card setup disk.
*(4) Please insert the Audio setup disk or browsing the path
where the file "install.inf" is . ( e.g. D:\Win98 )
*(5) Click "OK" .
(6) Then win98 will copy files from the source disk .
And the system will auto detect for
"AW37 PnP CODEC",
"AW37 PnP Joystick"
"AW37 PnP Control Registers"
"AW37 PnP MPU-401 Compatible"
,and it'll auto load and create the related driver and information .
(d) After completing the setup program , you can play sound without
restarting your machine .
[Update Driver]:
Becasue Win98 supply our old version audio driver, if you are first
time install AW37 audio card, Win98 will install the bundled driver.
If Win98 install the bundled driver, audio devices will be:
"Crystal Audio PnP CODEC",
"Crystal Audio PnP Joystick"
"Crystal Audio PnP Control Registers"
"Crystal Audio PnP MPU-401 Compatible"
To let you could enjoy AOpen's updated version driver, please follow
below steps to update your audio driver:
(a) Open [Control Panel]->[Device Manager]->[Video, audio and game controler]
then select "Crystal Audio PnP CODEC" and push "Properties" button.
In the properties dialog window, select "Drivers" tag and push
"Update Drivers" to begin update audio driver.
(b) Specify "D:\Win98" path when Win98 ask. (D: represent the setup disk drive)
(c) Press "No" if Win98 ask if you want to reserve the old driver.
(d) Repeat steps (a) to (c) and choose:
"Crystal Audio PnP Joystick"
"Crystal Audio PnP Control Registers"
"Crystal Audio PnP MPU-401 Compatible"
to update all of the audio devices driver.
[Uninstall]:
(A)Under the Audio Driver's Disk,you can find the "RemAudio.exe",
you can run the program to uninstall the audio driver.
Or(B)Open the "Control Panel" , "Add/Remove Programs" , Select
"Uninstall AW37 PnP Audio card . " , then select
"Add/Remove" .
Or(C)Under the \Windows path,you can find "RemAudio.inf" ,right
click the mouse button on the file . Then select "Install" to
uninstall the Audio card driver.
[Tips for Install]:
(A) MS_DOS volume control :
You can run file "cwbmix.exe" for open the DOS Mixer
volume control .
[Music Center]:
After installed the audio card , we also setup a music software application .
You can run the application by clicking "Start" , "Programs" , "AW37" ,
"Music Center" .

[Trouble Shooting]:
If you insert our audio card to the mainboard,and setup the
Windows'98 O.S. After the Win'98 been build up,the Win'98
may install the "Sound Blaster" driver as the audio driver.
So,you should run the "Setup.exe" in our Audio driver disk.
It will remove the Sound Blaster driver first, then restart
the computer. The Win'98 will auto detect our audio card,
and you can insert our driver and begin to install the correct
audio driver.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
