The device mapping order in system is same as BIOS setting utility. The disk
marked as "BOOT" will always be mapped as first SCSI disk. Please keep it in
mind when installing Windows NT/2K/XP, otherwise OS may be installed to wrong
location.
5. Driver Parameters
=====================
On Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 system, you can pass parameters to driver by the
following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Service\hptmv\Parameters\Device
Under this key, create a string value named "DriverParameter" and set the
value to the parameter string (without quotation mark).
Available parameters:
"TCQx=1" or "TCQx=0"
Enable/disable TCQ support, where x is channel number - 1 (0~7).
"smart=1" or "smart=0"
Enable/disable S.M.A.R.T support.
Multiple settings can be seperated by semicolon, e.g. "tcq1=0;tcq2=1;smart=1".
6. Known Problems
==================
* Windows Driver v1.0 can not work with new controller BIOS
RocketRAID 182x Windows driver v1.0 will hang up system if you update
controller BIOS to v1.01 or later. Please update driver before you update
controller BIOS.
* Install OS to devices attached to RocketRAID 182x/181x controller
Before installing OS to devices attached to RocketRAID 182x/181x controller, you
must remove the drives connected to other controllers from your system
temporarily. After OS installation complete, you can put them back.
* Moving disks to other controllers
When you want to use disks previously attached to RocketRAID 182x/181x controller
on other controllers, please first delete any array information on the
disks. Otherwise your data may be lost when you want to put it back later.
* Windows 98/ME system support
The controller BIOS can't work on Windows 98/ME; you can't install Windows
98/ME on RR182x/181x controller. To use the controller driver on Windows 98/ME,
press "END" key after the controller BIOS screen is shown during system boot;
or use "load.exe /c" to disable "INT 13 support" in controller BIOS.
