How do I create a DOS BOOTDISK?

Answer: Please follow the steps below in order.

1. You will need to create a bootable floppy disk. From the DOS prompt type in

A: Type (Format a:/s) or 

B: from Windows (open the my computer icon then right click on the floppy drive A
then click format to open another window.
when the new window opens up, choose the quick format or the full format.
then click on the BOX that says copy system files.

2. Copy the MSCDEX.EXE to the floppy disk. This file is a MICROSOFT copyrighted file.
    You can find it on any Windows computer and on Windows installation floppy disks.

3. Copy BOOTDISK.EXE from to the floppy.

4. Execute BOOTDISK (Either double click on BOOTDISK or at the

    A:\ prompt type in BOOTDISK to extract the file.

5. Restart the computer with the floppy disk inserted.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
