Windows 95
----------

Location of driver:

                \WIN95\NE100TX.SYS

Installion Procedures:

        1. Go to the "Control Panel", click the "System" icon.

        2. Click "Device Manager" from System window.

        3. Select all the unavailable network adapters and remove it.
           (Windows 95 system will mark the invalid network adapter by "X"
           or "!")

        4. Shutdown the Windows 95 system.

        5. Restart the system, Windows 95 will prompt the following message and
           request user to install the driver from the diskette.

                   "Found PCI Ethernet Controller"

                If the system has prompted the above message, go to step 7.

        6. If the system not ask you to install the driver, go to "Control
           Panel" and click "Add New Hardware". When the system has finished
           process, repeat step 4 and continue installation.

        7. Insert the driver diskette, install the driver to system properly.

        8. When completed the driver installation, restart the Windows 95 to
           take effect.

Windows 95 OSR2

       1. Plug your NE100TX-E adapter into one empty PCI slot.

       2. Boot your Win95 OSR2, it will show "PCI Ethernet Controller"
          in "New Hardware Found" box. Then pop-up a "Updated Device
          Driver Wizard".

       3. Click "Next", Win95 will try to search driver for your adapter,
          since the NE100TX-E driver located at the WIN95 subdirectory of
          SOHOware Fast/NE100TX-E diskette. The WIn95 OSR2 will not find it.

       4. Click the "Other Location" and fill in "A:\WIn95" in the location
          column.

       5. Press OK, it will find "NE100TX-E PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter".

       6. Press "Finish" and follow on-screen instructions to complete
          the instaiilation.

       7. Reboot your win95.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
