SFA110A DRIVER RE-INSTALLATION GUIDE for WINDOWS 95
============================================================

1)  Go to the Start Menu > Programs > Windows Explorer.
 
2)  Click on "View" from the File menu, select "Options...".
 
3)  In the View tab, select the "Show all Files".

4)  Uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types". 

5)  Click "OK" , then close "Windows Explorer" menu.

6)  Go to the Start Menu > Find > Files or Folders > Type:
    "fe100a.sys" in the "Named" dialog box.  Make sure that 
    Windows is searching for files in the "C:" drive (If you
    have more than one hard drives, make sure you choose 
    "local hard drives").  Click on the "Find Now" button.

7)  Once Windows found the "fe100a.sys" file (this file is
    usually located in c:\windows\system), highlight this 
    file and hit the DELETE key on your keyboard to delete 
    this file.  

8)  Highlight the "fe100a.sys" in the "Named" dialog box, hit
    DELETE key on your keyboard to delete this file name.  
    

9)  Type in "netfe100.inf" in the "Named" dialog box.  Make 
    sure that Windows is searching for files in the "C:" 
    drive (If you have more than one hard drives, make sure 
    you choose "local hard drives").  Click on the "Find 
    Now" button.

10) Once Windows found the "netfe100.inf" file (this file is
    usually located in c:\windows\inf), highlight this 
    file and hit the DELETE key on your keyboard to delete 
    this file.  Close out of the Find window.

11) Click on Start > Settings > Control Panel > System >
    in "Device Manager", under the "Network Adapters" item,
    highlight "SOHOware 10/100 pci network adapter" and click on
    the "REMOVE" button.  

12) Close "Device Manager" window.

13) Restart your computer.

14) Then follow the "SFA110A Driver Installation Guide" to reinstall the adapter.



 SFA110A DRIVER INSTALLATION GUIDE for WINDOWS 95
 ================================================
 
    1. Plug SOHOware 10/100 Fast Ethernet PCI adapter
       into one of the Master PCI slots on your motherboard.

    2. Turn power on then boot from Windows 95A (or Windows
       95-OSR2).

    3. [Win95A]
       Window system will prompt PCI Ethernet Controller found in
       "New Hardware Found" dialog box. 

       [Win95-OSR2]
       Window system will prompt PCI Ethernet Controller found in
       "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box.

    4. [Win95A]

       (a)Select "Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer"
          from "New Hardware Found" dialog box, then click the "OK" button.
          The "Install From Disk" dialog box will open.

       (b)Insert the SOHOware Driver Diskette into your floppy drive. 

       (c)Enter the driver pathname (i.e. "A:\"), then click the "OK" 
          button from "Install from Disk" dialog box.                

       [Win95-OSR2]

       (a)Windows will detect the SOHOware 10/100 F/E PCI Adapter and the 
          "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box will open. Click "Finish".
	  (If you did not insert the floppy disk at this time, Windows 
	  will fail to find the driver.  You can insert the floppy disk 
	  and specify the "Other location". Go to step #c.)
	    
       (b)If it's the 1st time you install an Ethernet Adapter:
   		1. The "Network" window will show, click "OK".
		2. Type the Computer name and Workgroup name for your PC.
		3. Tab "Configuration" to add the needed network components. 
		   Then click "Close".

       (c)Select the "Other Locations..." button, insert the SOHOware Driver 
	  Diskette into your floppy drive, and then enter the driver pathname 
	  (i.e.: "A:\"), then click the "OK" button.

       (d)The Windows 95-OSR2 will indicate that Windows 95 found the
          "SOHOware 10/100 PCI Network Adapter" driver on the floppy diskette
          (A:\). Click the "Finish" button.    

    5. Follow screen instructions to complete the process. Here 
       Windows may ask you to enter the driver path name again
       (i.e. " A:\"), and also ask you to insert the Windows 95 
       Source CD-ROM into CD drive.  Type in the location of your
       Windows Source files (your CD-ROM drive letter - i.e.: "D:\Win95")
       and then click the "OK" button.

    6. Windows will ask you to restart your computer.  Remove the
       floppy disk from the floppy drive and click the "Yes" button to 
       complete the installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
