WINDOWS Me UPGRADE AND INSTALLATION GUIDE

(1)UPGRADE GUIDE FOR SFA110A with the MX98715 CHIPSETS
[note]
The SOHOware 10/100 Fast Ethernet PCI adapter (with the MX98715AEC
chipsets) will be auto-detected and auto-installed as the "Macronix
MX98715 Family Fast Ethernet Adapter (ACPI)" by Windows Me. Please
follow the procedure below to upgrade your driver.
A.SFA110A adapter (with the MX98715AEC 37EEX or later chipsets)
1. Power on the computer and boot into Windows Me.
2. Clicking Start\Settings\Control Panel\System and tab
'Device Manager'.
3. Under "Network Adapters", select the "Macronix MX98715
Family Fast Ethernet Adapter (ACPI),then click 'Property'
and tab "driver".
4. Click 'Update driver'.
5. Insert the SOHOware 10/100 PCI Network adapter Driver
Diskette in your floppy drive.
6. On the 'Update Device Driver Wizard' box,choose 'Automatic
search for a better driver(Recommended)',then click 'Next'.
7. The Wizard will find the new driver for the SOHOware 10/100
PCI Network adapter,and ask you the path where the file
'Mxnic.sys' is located.
8. Type the location 'A:\WINMe', then press 'OK'
9. Wait for a few seconds.
10. Windows has finished the driver upgrading, click 'Finish'
and follow the system instruction to restart your computer.
B.SFA110A adapter (with the MX98715AEC 37DEX or 37BCX chipsets)
1. Power on the computer and boot into Windows Me.
2. Clicking Start\Settings\Control Panel\System and tab
'Device Manager'.
3. Under "Network Adapters", select the "Macronix MX98715
Family Fast Ethernet Adapter (ACPI),then click 'Property'
and tab "driver".
4. Click 'Update driver'.
5. Insert the SOHOware 10/100 PCI Network adapter Driver
Diskette in your floppy drive.
6. On the 'Update Device Driver Wizard' box,choose 'Automatic
search for a better driver(Recommended)',then click 'Next'.
7. The Wizard will find the new driver for the SOHOware 10/100
PCI Network adapter,and ask you the path where the file
'Fe100a.sys' is located.
8. Type the location 'A:\', then press 'OK'
9. Wait for a few seconds.
10. Windows has finished the driver upgrading, click 'Finish'
and follow the system instruction to restart your computer.
(2)INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR SFA110A with the MX98713 CHIPSETS
[note]
The SOHOware 10/100 Fast Ethernet PCI adapter (with the MX98713
chipsets) will not be auto-installed by Windows Me.Please follow
the procedure below to install your driver.
1. Plug SOHOware 10/100 Fast Ethernet PCI adapter into one
of the Master PCI slots of your PCI platform.
2. Turn power on then boot from Windows Me.
3. Window system will detect the SOHOware 10/100 PCI Network
Adapter and the Add New Hardware Wizard dialog box will
open.
4. On the above dialog box,choose 'Automatic search for a
better driver(Recommended)',and insert the SOHOware 10/100
PCI Network adapter Driver Diskette in your floppy drive,
then click 'Next'.
5. The Wizard will find the new driver for the SOHOware 10/100
PCI Network adapter(Non-ACPI), and ask you the path where
the file 'Fe100a.sys' is located.
6. Type the location 'A:\', then press 'OK'
7. Wait for a few seconds.
8. Windows has finished the driver installation, click 'Finish'
and follow the system instruction to restart your computer.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
