***** How to use the SMK touch panel driver for Windows 95/98 *****

1.Introduction

This floppy disk contains the following files:

 READMEUS.TXT : Description of this disk (what you are reading now)
 TTAB95PP.CAT : Security catalog file
 TTAB95PP.INF : Set-up information file for the touch panel driver
 TTAB95PP.VXD : Touch panel driver file
 TABCAL95.EXE : Coordinate correction program for the touch panel driver
 TTABAPI.DLL  : API library of touch panels
 TTABBEEP.EXE : Beep sound control module
 TTABCPL.CPL  : Control panel application
 TTABCTRL.EXE : Function expansion module
 TTABHOOK.DLL : Keyboard hook module
 TTABUI.EXE   : Application for deletion of the driver module
 TTABHLPJ.PUH : Pop-up help file (in Japanese)
 TTABHLPE.PUH : Pop-up help file (in English)


2.How to install the touch panel driver

Use the following procedure to install the touch panel driver.
When a touch panel is connected after the system has been started, installation
must start from step 1), and if a system is started with a touch panel
previously connected (built in), start installation from step 4).

1) Open the Windows control panel and activate the "Add New Hardware".

2) When the "Add New Hardware Wizard" appears, click the "Next>" button.
   In the following screen, click the "Next>" button to continue.

3) When a screen where a detection method of hardware can be selected, select
   the "Yes" radio button and press the "Next>" button. 
   (Also click the "Next>" button in the next screen.)

4) The plug-and-play function will detect "SMK PnP TABLET".
   When the "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box appears, click the "Next>"
   button.

5) Select the "Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)."
   radio button, and click the "Next>" button.

6) Check the box for "Floppy disk drives", insert this floppy disk and click
   the "Next>" button.

7) When "Location of driver:" appears,  click the "Next>" button.

8) When file copying is completed, clock the "Finish" button.

9) When the "System Settings Change" message box appears, click the "Yes"
   button to restart the system.

10) Execute the TABCAL95.EXE to work the touch panel driver.
    Note: Touch panel does not work until TABCAL95.EXE is executed.
          See the following section about usage of TABCAL95.EXE.

11) TABCAL95.EXE enable to operate the touch panel.


3.Usage of TABCAL95.EXE

1) Execute the TABCAL95.EXE.
   You can execute the program as follows.

    a) Input "TABCAL95.EXE" from the dialog box of "Run", then click "OK"
       button.

    b) Execute from Control Panel as follows.
        * Open the Windows control panel and activate "Touch Panel".
        * Select the "Calibration" tab and click the "Execute" button.

2) Following the display message, you push the four corners of Tablet in 
   order of left-upper, right-upper, left-bottom, right-bottom.

3) After finishing the above operation, you can use the Tablet.


4.How to update the touch panel driver

Use the following procedure to update the touch panel driver.

1) In the Windows control panel, activate Property in "System".

2) Select the "Device Manager" tab.  Also select "SMK PnP Tablet" in the device
   list, and click "Properties" button.

3) Select the "Driver" tab and click the "Update Driver..." button.

4) When the "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box appears, click the "Next>"
   button.

5) Select the "Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you
   can select the driver you want" radio button, and click "Next>" button.

6) In the next screen, click the "Have Disk..." button. When "Install From
   Disk" dialog box appears, insert the floppy disc and click the "OK" button.
   At this time, the combo-box of "Location of driver:" must show Floppy Disk Drive.

7) When the "Update Device Driver Wizard" dialog box returns, click the "Next>"
   button.

8) When "Location of driver:" appears, click the "Next>" button.

9) When file copying is completed, press the "Finish" button.

10) When the "System Settings Change" message box appears, click the "Yes"
    button to restart the system.

5.How to uninstall the touch panel driver

Use the following procedure to uninstall the touch panel driver.

1) In the Windows control panel, activate the "System" property.

2) Select the "Device Manager" tab.
   In the device list, select "SMK PnP Tablet", and click "Remove" button.

3) In the "Confirm Device Removal" dialog box, click the "OK" button.

4) Close "System Properties".

5) Following "Start" and then "Run...", enter TTABUI.EXE and click the "OK"
   button.

6) When the "Delete all of the Touch Panel modules. Are you sure?" message box
   appears, click the "Yes" button.

7) When the "Touch Panel modules are deleted successfully." message box
   appears, click the "OK" button.

8) At this stage, 'TTABUI.EXE' has not yet been deleted.
   Deletion of this module will take place when the system is restarted.
