To program a Fibre Channel controller with the EFI Boot Services Driver
(BSD), the Fibre Channel Flash Configuration Utility (fcutil.exe) must be
used on an X86 platform.  Both an EFI BSD and FCODE image must be
programmed.  To download the EFI Boot Services Driver and Fcode images from
a file to the FLASH, follow the same procedures to download the INT 13
BIOS and FCODE images, except enter the filename of the EFI Boot Services
Driver (lsimpt.rom).  

Refer to the Fibre Channel Flash Configuration Utility User's Guide 
(fcutilug_efi.doc).

Download the and Bios/Firmware package for x86 systems and your HBA. 
(The file is located at the top of the download page for this HBA 
under the BIOS/Firmware category.) 

Current fcode file name for all 919, 929, 919x, 929x controllers, and
all Fibre Channel HBA is lsi9x9f.rom 


use the FCUtil.exe from the bios/fw update along with the BSD image from 
this package to update any Fibre Channel HBA with the correct image for 
EFI systems.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
