Installing Crystal Audio Driver
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A. Installation:
To Install the Crystal Audio Driver, please complete one of
the following procedures:

Procedure 1 - Windows 2000 and Windows XP
1. By default, the Microsoft/Intel driver gets installed.
It is named Intel ® 82801AA AC'97 Audio Controller.
Remove this entry from the Sound, Video, and Game
Controllers section in device manager if using an ICH system.
2. Remove the corresponding Intel/Microsoft inf/pnf
file in	c:\winnt\inf. The names of these files are
wdma_int.inf and wdma_int.pnf. It is, of course, optional
that these get removed in the case of selecting the
"Display a list of all drivers in a specific location,
so you can select the driver you want" option in the
Add New Hardware Wizard. But Plug and Play will be
easier if they are removed.
3. Restart. Plug and Play will occur again. You will be
prompted for a driver.

Procedure 2 - Windows '98 SE and Millennium
1. Open Device Manager.
2. PCI Multimedia Device will have a yellow marker the
first time the operating system is installed.
3. Select "Properties" on the yellow marker.
4. Select the "Driver" tab.
5. Click on "Update Driver".
6. You will need the Windows Second Edition to complete
the WDM installation.
7. The entry that will show up in the Sound, Video, and
Game Controllers is: Crystal WDM Audio Codec.
8. A little Sound Icon appears on the Task Bar upon
completing the driver installation.

Procedure 3 - Installer
1. Double click the setup.exe icon.
2. Welcome Screen appears. Press Next.
3. Crystal SoundFusion Setup Screen appears.
   Choose "Install".
4. Press Next.
5. If you are installing the driver without proper digital signature,
you may see the panel "Digital Signature Not Found" with the question
"Do you want to continue the installation?"
Click "Yes." You may also be prompted for location of driver files. Please
direct to where the driver files are located on you hard disk drive.
If you are installing the driver with proper digital signature,
you won't see the above message/scenario. Please ignore this step.
6. Press Finish to restart the system.

4. Restart your PC for Plug and Play to happen again.

Procedure 2 - Windows '98 Second Edition and Millenium

compatible, your hardware will not work correctly and your computer
might become unstable or stop working completely.
Do you want to continue installing this driver?"
   Click "Yes"
7. If you are installing the driver without proper digital signature,
you may see the panel "Digital Signature Not Found" with the question

   Please ignore this step.

RESTRICTIONS :

1. Unnecessary Balance Controls and sliders appear in volume Control.
The controls are automatically built by WDM and is a limitation of
   the WDM architecture.
2. Windows CD-ROM may be required to install some
Microsoft components if not originally installed.
A large part of the audio driver is by Microsoft and requires
Microsoft WDM audio components to install if not already present.
3. The Sound Recorder application recording meter may only show the
left channel. This is an application restriction.
4. DOS games are not supported in shutdown to DOS, only in a DOS box.
DOS emulation is supplied by the OS.
