The ATI Building Block for PathWay from Wollongong is an
adaptation of Wollongong's PathWay Runtime. The Building Block
software includes the TCP/IP kernel and SNMP agent to run with the
ATI adapter card's existing ODI or NDIS driver. The main function
is to provide support for the SNMP agent and the underlying TCP/IP
transport.

The included tools STAT and WINSTAT allow observation of groups of
variables, which describe activity of the local workstation from
DOS and WINDOWS, respectively.

The included diagnostic tools PING and WINPING are used to test
TCP/IP configurations and to diagnose connection failures on the
LAN from DOS and WINDOWS, respectively.

When running on the local workstation, the SNMP agent may be
queried by remote SNMP management software. Such remote
management software is available from Wollongong and other
manufacturers, but is not included in this product.

The file WINSOCK.DLL is provided to operate with the TCP/IP
transport and may be used to support third-party applications that
are Winsock 1.1 compliant. This does not support keep-alive
packets, which tell a host to keep a session active even if there
has been no activity on the network for several hours. In
addition, the file SOCKDOS.DLL, implemented by Wollongong before
the Winsock standard was adopted, is included. Any third-party
application that conforms to this proprietary implementation can
also be used.

NETBIOS.EXE is provided and may be used with other third-party
applications which conform to the RFC 1001/1002 implementation of
Netbios over TCP/IP. This Netbios implementation will only
communicate with other PCs that are running the Building Block
TCP/IP transport.

For more information concerning the WINSOCK.DLL or NETBIOS.EXE,
please contact your software provider to determine compatibility.

For additional services or utilities, software may be obtained
from Wollongong (800)872-8649 or (800)962-8649 in California. The
following packages can be run once the Building Block is loaded.

PathWay Access (including TELNET and FTP)
PathWay Client NFS
PathWay Messenger
Client Plus (SMB)
Server (SMB)
PathWay API Developers Tool Kit
PathWay for DOS-based applications from third-party vendors
