Installing the Loader patch to SERVER.EXE file.

** Note: - The patch file is not provided with this driver now.
           This patch file can be obtain from Compex web site or
           Novell web site
 at http://support/novell.com
 or http://www.compex.com.sg/netware/nw4.xx/ldr4x.exe

This is a one time patch to the SERVER.EXE file to provide PCI driver
access to BIOS in protected mode when the newer NBI/MSM NLMs are
loaded with the newer driver specifications.

*** Caution: Backup the SERVER.EXE before you run the patch update.
	     

1) Keep a safe copy of the program SERVER.EXE by backing it up to a disk.

2) Run LDR4X.EXE to extract the loader patch files.

3) Copy the LOADER.EXE, LSWAP.EXE  and SERVER.EXE to the NWSERVER directory
   if your NetWare boot directory is not by this name.

4) Run the LSWAP.EXE will update the loader segment in the SERVER.EXE file.

5) Copy SERVER.EXE back to the original NetWare boot directory if have copy
   the SERVER.EXE file in step (2).

6) Patch update completed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
