Welcome to the Duxbury Modems NT 4 Driver! ========================================== Version 1.9 Used with driver version 4.24 This version has been adopted and modified from the WIN98 Driver Disk ==================================================================== Installing a Duxbury Modem ==================================================================== Introduction: NT does not support PnP as found in WIN 95,98,Me,2000 & XP You always need to restart your machine to install new hardware. 1. If you have installed any modem on this comm port before, please remove it first. (START, Settings, Control Panel Modems, highlight and click Remove button) - Better results, but not necessary! 2. To install the modem, click START, Settings, Control Panel. Double click the Modems icon. If you have never installed a modem before, the Modem Install Wizard will automatically start. If you have installed modems on your PC before, ensure that there are no current modems installed on the comm port you are about to use for your new isntallation. You can check this by looking at the associated comm port from the list of installed modems. 3. Windows NT Modem Install Wizard will guide you through the installation, be it an Internal, External or a PCMCIA type modem you are installing. You must check the box where the Install Wizard says "Don't detect my modem; I will select it from a list". Then click next. 4. Click the "Have Disk" button, and type a: as the path. 5. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
