Graphics Accelerator VGA Windows Display Driver Disk

Please read any additional installation documentation provided.

To install the Graphics Accelerator VGA drivers into Windows 3.0 or 3.1:

1)  Exit Windows.

2)  Change directory (CD) to your Windows directory.

3)  Type "setup" at the MS-DOS prompt.

4)  Select Display - "Other (Requires disk provided by a hardware manufacturer)"

5)  If you are installing the drivers into Windows 3.0, enter the path to the
    \win30drv directory on the Graphics Accelerator VGA Windows 3.0 Driver
    diskette, e.g. "A:\win30drv" if this diskette is in the A: drive.

    NOTE WINDOWS 3.0 only: Delete CAR*.DRV and VDDCAR.386 files from the
    \Windows\System directory before installing the new drivers.

    If you are installing the drivers into Windows 3.1, enter the path to the
    \win31drv directory on the Graphics Accelerator VGA Windows 3.1 Driver
    diskette, e.g. "A:\win31drv" if this diskette is in the A: drive.

6)  Select the desired screen resolution and press Enter.
    Setup will copy files from the diskette into your Windows directories.
    You may be prompted for the "LR215X Driver Disk (\files subdirectory)".
    When this happens, enter the path to the \files directory on the
    Graphics Accelerator VGA Windows 3.0/3.1 Driver diskette,

    e.g. "A:\files" if this diskette is in the A: drive.

7)  When Setup is complete, you are returned to the MS-DOS prompt.
    Type "win" to start Windows.

The Hi-Color Drivers (640x480 32768 and 65536 colors) are intended for use
with Windows 3.1 Enhanced mode only.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
