Aspire Windows 95 Modem Drivers

Systems
=======
Aspire systems with one of the following DS numbers. 

DS.AA774.001   DS.AA774.002   DS.AA774.003   DS.AA774.004
DS.AA774.005   DS.AA774.006   DS.AA774.007   DS.AA774.011
DS.AA919.004   DS.AA941.007   DS.AA941.008

This file contains Windows 95 modem drivers for the system's above.
These are the same drivers that are found on the system's ACE Resource
CD in the D:\INF directory (where D: is the CD-ROM drive letter). There
is no need to download these drivers unless you wish to reload the drivers
and have misplaced your CD.

Creating the Modem Diskette
===========================
1. Click Start, Programs, and MS-DOS Prompt. 
2. Insert a blank floppy disk and enter "FORMAT A: /U" at the command line. 
3. Switch to the directory the modem drivers are stored in and enter
   "ASP1428.EXE A:\" to create the diskette.
   
Modem Installation Procedure
============================
1. Click on Start and then Settings. 
2. Select Control Panel and then Modems. 
3. Click on Add and then select Don't detect my modem; I will select it
   from a list.
4. Click on Next and then Have Disk.
5. Place the Ace Resource CD in the drive and enter D:\INF or place your
   newly created modem driver diskette into the drive and enter A:\.
6.  Select the corresponding manufacturer and model, and click Next.

7. Select Communications Port (COM1) as the port location and click on Next.
8. Click on Finish to complete the process.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
