Location of Drivers: /NDIS/E100B.DOS

                     /NDIS/E100BDOS.NIF

On a formatted blank floppy disk create the following disk structure:
   
   (for DOS)
   \MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\E100B\E100B.DOS
   \MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\E100B\PROTOCOL.INI
   \MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\NIF\E100BDOS.NIF
   
   (for OS/2*)
   \MSLANMAN.OS2\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\E100B\E100B.OS2
   \MSLANMAN.OS2\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\E100B\PROTOCOL.INI
   \MSLANMAN.OS2\DRIVERS\NIF\E100BOS2.NIF


Sample Configuration Files

CONFIG.SYS (for DOS) will include these lines:
   
   DEVICE=C:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\PROTMAN\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANMAN.DOS
   DEVICE=C:\LANMAN.DOS\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANMAN.DOS
   DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\E100B.DOS
   DEVICE=C:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\E100B\E100B.DOS

CONFIG.SYS (for OS/2) will include these lines:
   
   DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\DRIVERS\PROTMAN\PROTMAN.OS2 /I:C:\LANMAN.0S2
   DEVICE=C:\LANMAN\PROTMAN.OS2 /I:C:\LANMAN

PROTOCOL.INI will contain these lines:

General Installation
--------------------

1  Run the appropriate Microsoft LAN Manager setup for the computer you
   are setting up (DOS, OS/2 or OS/2 Server). When prompted for the LAN
   adapter driver, select "Other Driver" (the EtherExpress PRO/100B
   driver isn't included on the LAN Manager disk) and insert the PRO/100B
   driver disk you created. Select the EtherExpress PRO/100B driver and
   follow the directions.

2  When completed, reboot your computer in order for changes to take
   effect.

--------------

1  Parameters for the PROTOCOL.INI file:

   DRIVERNAME: This is the one required parameter. See the example
   PROTOCOL.INI file earlier in this document for syntax.

2  Sample PROTOCOL.INI for LAN Manager:

   DRIVERNAME = PROTMAN$
   DYNAMIC = YES
   PRIORITY = NETBEUI

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
