Method 1 using install menu (for NetWare 4.1 only)
==================================================

1)  Copy the appropriate NetWare driver files (from this diskette) to the
    DOS partition of your hard disk.

    >md DE22X
    >copy A:\NETWARE\SERVER\*.*  C:\DE22X   --Insert D-Link Driver disk in 'A'
    >copy A:\NETWARE\SERVER\NW4X\*.*  C:\DE22X

2)  Boot the Novell Server, after the server is started
    execute "LOAD INSTALL" instruction.

    : load install

3)  Select "Driver Option" and press <Enter>.

4)  Select "Configure network drivers" and press <Enter>.

5)  Select "Select a driver" and press <Enter>.

6)  Press the <Ins> key to install an unlisted driver.

7)  Press <F3> to specify a diffrent path (C:\DE22X) and press <Enter>.

8)  Select "DE22X.LAN" and copy DE22X.lan.

9)  Config adapter parameter, then Select "Save parameters and load driver".

10) Next time you start up your system, only follow steps 2 to 5 to complete
    the installation.


Method 2 modifying an Existing NetWare 4.x Server
=================================================

1)  At any workstation, Login to the Novell server as a SUPERVISOR.

2)  Copy all supplied NLM and LAN files to your server's SYSTEM directory:

    >Copy A:\NETWARE\SERVER\NW4XX\*.*   F:\SYSTEM

3)  At the Novell Server side, execute load install

    :load install
        Select <System Option>
        Select <Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF>

    Modify the server's AUTOEXEC.NCF as following.

              load DE22X.LAN
                    (msm.nlm and ethertsm.nlm will be automatically loaded
                     while loading de22x.lan)
              bind ipx to DE22X NET=xxxx

4)  Shutdown the Server and then turn it ON again.  This time, the DE-220
    family ethernet card will be installed as your network card.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
