                     Netware DOS ODI Driver Installation
                     ===================================

ODI Driver program allows you to run multiple protocol stacks.  It also
allows you to install up to two network adapters in a workstation. ODI
driver supports "port, node address, protocol and frame" options.  You can use
these options to create your own NET.CFG file.  For detailed info on Keywords,
please refer to Novell manual "NetWare ODI shell for DOS - NET.CFG options".


ODI Workstation for DOS
=======================

1)  Copy the DE22X.COM file (from this diskette) to the Netware client
    directory which contains Novell's LSL.COM, IPXODI.COM and NETx.COM files.

2)  Follow Novell's instructions on using the ODI programs. You can substitute
    the DE22X.COM whenever a reference is made to the Hardware Specific
    Module.

3)  A typical startup for ODI workstation is as follows:

     >LSL               --Link Support Layer Module provided by Novell
     >DE22X             --Hardware Specific Module provided by D-Link
     >IPXODI            --IPX Protocol Stack Module provided by Novell
     >NETx              --DOS Shell Support Module provided by Novell
     >LOGIN


NetWare 3.1x ODI Client Driver for DOS
======================================

Please install the NetWare ODI client driver files following the procedures
as described in the NetWare installation guide.

If you want to use the NetWare ODI installation procedure, please do the
following:

1)  Make a backup of WSDRV_1 diskette.

2)  Copy the files DE22X.COM, DE22X.INS to DOS directory of
    WSDRV_1 diskette:

    Insert D-Link driver diskette in A: drive.
    Insert NetWare WSDOS_1 diskette in B: drive.

    >Copy  A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.DOS\*.*  B:\DOS  --For NetWare client
                                                          workstation


3)  Execute Novell's INSTALL program, which resides in the WSDOS_1 diskette.
    When you are asked to install the driver for your network board, press
    the INS key.  You will be asked to insert a WSDRV_1 diskette.  Insert
    the WSDRV_1 diskette  which contains DE22X.COM and DE22X.INS
    in drive A.

4)  Follow the NetWare Client Install procedures, Which resides in the WSDOS_1
    diskette. When asked to select a network driver, simply choose "D-Link
    DE-220 Family Series Ethernet Card" and select parameter like as Media
    Frame Type(s) and Optional Node Address.

    Upon completion, a new NET.CFG file will be created in your DOS directory.
    A typical of NET.CFG is as follows:

              Link Driver DE22X
                   PORT 300
                   FRAME Ethernet_802.2

              NetWare DOS Requester
                   FIRST NETWORK DRIVE = F

5)  A typical startnet.bat for ODI workstation is as follows:

     SET NWLANGUAGE=ENGLISH  --Set NetWare 4.0 to English language
     LSL                     --Link Support Layer Module provided by Novell
     DE22X                   --Hardware Specific Module provided by D-Link
     IPXODI                  --IPX Protocol Stack Module provided by Novell
     VLM                     --DOS Support Module provided by Novell
     F:                      --Change to connected device
     LOGIN .ADMIN.NV40SRV    --Login to file server NV40SRV as user ADMIN

6) You may run STARTNET to access the Novell network.


NetWare 4.x ODI Client Driver for DOS
=====================================

Please install the NetWare ODI client driver files following the procedures
as described in the NetWare installation guide.

If you want to use the NetWare ODI installation procedure, please do the
following:

1)  Make a backup of WSDRV_1 diskette.

2)  Copy the files DE22X.COM, DE22X.INS and DLKDRVS.DOS to DOS directory of
    WSDRV_1 diskette:

    Insert D-Link driver diskette in A: drive.
    Insert NetWare WSDOS_1 diskette in B: drive.

    >Copy  A:\NETWARE\CLIENT\ODI.DOS\*.*  B:\DOS  --For NetWare client
                                                          workstation

3)  Execute Novell's INSTALL program, which resides in the WSDOS_1 diskette.
    When you are asked to install the driver for your network board, select
    "Other drive". You will be asked to insert a WSDRV_1 diskette.  Insert
    this diskette (or backup) which contains DE22X.COM, DE22X.INS in drive A.

4)  Follow the NetWare Client Install procedures, Which resides in the WSDOS_1
    diskette. When asked to select a network driver, simply choose "D-Link
    DE-220 Family Series Ethernet Card" for selecting parameter like as Media
    Frame Type(s) and Optional Node Address.

    Upon completion, a new NET.CFG file will be created in your DOS directory.
    A typical of NET.CFG is as follows:

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
