October 1995 DE-220 Family Ethernet Card NetBIOS Emulator Installation ============================= Copyright (c) 1995 by D-Link Corporation. All rights reserved. The D-Link NetBIOS Emulator is a standardized network interface program that allows this Adapter to run NetBIOS-based network operating systems like the IBM PC LAN Program and others. No software modification or additional installation is necessary. All operations as well as installation procedures for the network operating system will remain unaltered. The following files will be used in this installation: Files Contents ----------- ------------------------------------------------ DE-22X.EXE DE-220 Family Driver Program NBIOS.EXE NetBIOS Emulator Program To install the NetBIOS Emulator, do as follows: 1. Load the driver program DE-22X.EXE. >DE-22X /IOP:n /IRQ:n /IOP:n Define the base I/O address for your network interface card. n is a 3-digit hexadecimal number representing the base I/O address. If you don't enter this parameter, a default I/O address 300H will be used. /IRQ:n Define the IRQ line used by your network interface card. n is 2-digit number representing the IRQ line. If you don't enter this parameter, a default IRQ line 3 will used. 2. Load the NetBIOS Emulator program NBIOS.EXE. This program is memory-resident and will stay in your computer's memory until it is turned off or until you re-boot. >NBIOS [/Sm] [/Ck] Typing the parameter after NBIOS is optional. The parameter is used as follows: /Sm specifies the maximum number of sessions allowed on your computer, where m can be a value from 1 to 254. If this parameter is not specified, the default number of sessions will be set to 32. /Ck specifies the maximum number of NetBIOS command available for your computer where k can be a value from 1 to 255. If this parameter is not specified, the default number of NetBIOS commands will be set to 32. Your computer now is ready to run a NetBIOS-based network operating system.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
