     |	NetWare 3.x disk drivers for DC4030VL-2 | Version 1.01
     +==========================================+

Enclosed in the subdirectory "NETWARE" are two releases of NetWare 3.x
disk drivers for the DC4030VL-2 Disk Accelerator.

     PTIA310.DSK is for NetWare 3.10.
     PTIA311.DSK is for NetWare 3.11.

You will need the driver under the following situations:

     - You want to install 32-Bit VL-Bus access under NetWare 3.1x.
     - Your DC4030VL-2 is installed as the PRIMARY disk controller with
more than two IDE drives attached.
     - Your DC4030VL-2 works as the SECONDARY disk controller.

Please follow the steps below to install the driver for NetWare 3.10.
Use PTIA311.DSK instead of PTIA310.DSK in the following procedure when
you are installing NetWare 3.11. Note that the ISADISK.DSK driver is
substituted by the 32 bit access PTI driver in the NetWare installation.

     1. When your DC4030VL-2 works as the PRIMARY disk controller.

	- After you have installed the DC4030VL-2, bring up the NetWare server
until the prompt ":" appears on the screen.

	- Type the following command after the ":" prompt:

	       load PTIA310 port=1f0 int=e [/W]

Adding the /W parameter configures the controller to work in the
16 bit data access mode. Certain motherboard CPUs have a 16-bit
external data bus and require this setting (for example, IBM 486
SLC2). If no parameter is specified, the controller will function
under the default 32 bit data access mode.

     2. When your DC4030VL-2 works as the SECONDARY disk controller.

	- Install DC4030VL-2 as the SECONDARY disk controller.	Please follow
steps 2 through 8 in the root directory README file under
	  "Secondary Controller Operation."

-Bring up the NetWare server until the prompt ":" appears on the
	  screen.

	- Type the following command after the ":" prompt if your
DC4030VL-2 has been configured to use IRQ12.

	       load PTIA310 port=170 int=c [/W]

If your DC4030VL-2 has been configured to use IRQ15, you should
type the following command instead of the one shown above.

	       load PTIA310 port=170 int=f [/W]

Adding the /W parameter configures the controller to work in the
16 bit data access mode. Certain motherboard CPUs have a 16-bit
external data bus and require this setting (for example, IBM 486
SLC2). If no parameter is specified, the controller will function
under the default 32 bit data access mode.
